The Youth Report (http://dcprosportsreport.com/dcpsr-content/youth-report/) is a weekly content article that evaluates the play and performance of the Redskins rookies and sophomores, with trends of players going up, down, or simply staying neutral, and a few little bits of personal/opinion/comment. You may not always agree with our assessment of players, so feel free to comment right here on the Blog.

The Rookie Report

N CB Kevin Barnes : Barnes was inactive. Barnes issue is learning the defense and getting use to the NFL pace. The thought still creeps in my mind, can Barnes really be worse than Fred Smoot? No playing, Barnes stays the same. Barnes is NEUTRAL.

N LB Robert Henson: Henson made the inactive list again and probably can get used to it, barring injuries. We are willing to forgive Henson for his idiocy on Twitter and move him back to Neutral. Henson goes NEUTRAL.

N DE Jeremy Jarmon: Jarmon continues to get some reps on defense, evidence of trust from the defensive coaching staff. As we wrote in our 5 Things We Would Fix (http://dcprosportsreport.com/2009/09/if-i-were-jim-zorn-5-changes-now.html), I would love to see the Redskins make a move and put Jarmon in as a starter. One of the main reasons the defense suffered a brutal showing last week was lack of pass rush. Rookie QB Matt Stafford had ample time to throw and the Redskins lacked an effective pass rush making Stafford look like a pro bowler. Veteran DE Phillip Daniels simply isn't getting it done. Again. Put the younger, faster Jarmon out there. He committed another penalty, but you will have that as he learns. Plus I think again, the call was bogus. Jarmon stays NEUTRAL.
