This might be intreging if our season continues down the current path. A hard nosed GM and a hard chinned...I mean nosed HC might straighten out the players looking for the free ride and ge them performing.
I found this under Cowher's Wiki:
Cowher began his coaching career in 1985 at age 28 under Marty Schottenheimer (http://www.thewarpath.net/wiki/Marty_Schottenheimer) with the Cleveland Browns (http://www.thewarpath.net/wiki/Cleveland_Browns). He was the Browns' special teams coach in 1985–86 and secondary coach in 1987–88 before following Schottenheimer to the Kansas City Chiefs (http://www.thewarpath.net/wiki/Kansas_City_Chiefs) in 1989 as defensive coordinator.
Assuming we bring Marty in as GM and Cowher in as HC, could we steal or get Marty's son Brian from the Jets to be OC? Unless we give him some fansy name like Asst. HC could we even bring him on board unless his contract is up and if someone knows when that would be?
Then who do we bring in as DC?
That's very interesting. Might just work!! Sound great IMO. We definitely don't have problems dishing out money for coaching staffs.

I oppose any new head coach move without a front office change. Without a new GM and a traditional GM role, you get an upgraded coach with the same organizational dysfunction. I am also not in favor of Mike Holmgren doing both roles. Go back to the traditional redskin approach that led to Superbowls. get yourself a good GM, hire a good Coach, then rebuild the franchise.
That is the key, getting a great GM. Then have Snyder take a half step back in his current role player/roster management.
The dynamic duo of Snyder/Cerratto have proven over time they do not have the ability to keep this team stocked with quality/young players. I also think their selection of this coaching staff was not good.
It is time for a new young/up and coming GM. First Priority.

Mike Shanahan makes way too much sense as the next HC. Vinny and him go way back to SF. Besides i doubt any of the other coaches out there would want to work with Vinny and Snyder wont fire him.
Might not be too bad of an idea either. When he was in denver they ran the crap out of the ball and ran it well. Always a good OL. Which is what you need in the NFCE. I think its going to happen if we don't get to the playoffs this year.

Sounds like a great plan if Zorn does not work out.
For DC, how about Greg Manusky?. I'm not convinced that Blache is a failure, he did rally the team to some tough second-halfs this year and we're only giving up about ONE offensive TD per game.

So football isn't important in Green Bay??? They've got some of the most educated football fans in the NFL. They live sleep eat and breath football up there. But I think Holmgren is what this team needs. Now if we could get him as our coach and get rid of Vinny then we're on our way!
What do you mean? Vinny did a great job with the 49ers! Now he is doing the same for the Redskins! Campbell has to go!

I think Holmgren is a great choice to get the skins back on track. Whether he takes them to the SuperBowl is questionable. I would just like to see a consistent team that is building toward something. Just reaching the playoffs a couple of years in a row is good enough for me.

Holmgren was on Mike & Mike yesterday morning and mentioned that he was enjoying his 1st year off, but wanted to come back and coach next year. So, if Zorn gets canned he would be the perfect fit to take over, that is if he wants to come here.

Last year, he was an unmitigated disaster. This year, his original gameplans have been completely hit or miss, but he's done a good job with halftime adjustments in all games...and that represents a vast improvement over last year.

Unmitigated disaster with the 4th-ranked Defense in the NFL?
