He may even need to make the playoffs but if I were DS I'd have to think long and hard before I fired a coach who won double digit games. I don't think just scraping over the bar at 9-7 will save Zorn because there will be too many highly qualified HC candidates available for DS to settle for a mediocre coach. Why would you fire the coach you ( Synder) hired and he turned the team around after losing to the Lions. If we make the playoffs that would mean we must be playing much better offense and defense. The only team I know who fired their coach for making the playoffs is the Chargers ( Marty Shottenheimer). We are a far cry from making the playoffs as of right now. I guess we can still dream.
