I think it's an important issue. Though the original post could have been better.

Yeah that's all I'm sayin'

If you can't run the ball you don't win. I refuse to believe we can't run the ball all of a sudden. We're the same god damn team we were last year. We can run the ball, the problem is when you call running plays. Zorn is shit. Watching this game makes me sick.

Zero rushing yards at halftime? Against the Lions? It's not all of a sudden. We haven't done anything on the ground since the last Lions game.

You mean the first half last season when the play calling was working? Or do you mean the second half when we fell apart in every offensive facet? I think you are right that we are the same team as last year, just the wrong half. The playcalling has been awful but I have to think it's a lot more complicated than just deciding we are going to run better.

I'm watching the game right now on NFL Rewind, I really don't understand what Zorn is doing. I can understand if a good team stacking the box but this is the f'ing Lions. He is completely letting them dictate what he's doing. If they want to stack the box you don't abandon the run, you go with a two TE set all day long to get the f'ing running game going.

I totally hear you.

We're not going to win very many games if we can't get the running game cranked up. It's been embarrassing so far.

And I'm getting quoted for things I didn't write. Just so everyone knows, I'm not some loon arguing with himself here.

But we either need to be a complete offense or a complete defense to compete with the struggles of the opposing unit. Right now, we're a one trick pony. And it's shaping up a LOT like the 2006 season.

Except that team could run the ball.

no depth on the OL and a lot fewer carries to get into a rhythm

Sure if the D comes alive we could definitely win games that way.

The cold, hard truth is this is not a good running team anymore. I mean, we don't have the horses up front, Portis isn't quite what he used to be, Betts isn't anything to write home about, and the scheme simply has not set the run up very well. And I think the pressure of the situation going into the Lions game caused Zorn to try to establish the pass first. I don't think he has abandoned the run, per se. I just think he wanted to establish the passing game first because of how ineffective the run has been.

I actually give him credit for coming out passing first. This team is just out of snych all the way around.
