Kalisto2010 10-13-2009, 01:28 PM Here's my personal take on Campbell. How come when he went down, and Collins stepped in and won 4 straight and led us to playoffs how come none of us were complaining about our O-line? We had no O-line problems when Collins was QB'ing. Collins not getting a chance to start is the biggest injustice since sending Warren Moon to the Edmonton Eskimo's. During his 4 regular season starts in Washington he has a QB rating of 106.4.
So he's my bold prediction. If we get a new coach this season, Campbell will be benched, Collins would start and the Skins will start winning again.

Well if I remember right Collins' start also coincided with changes made on the OL. We benched Todd Wade, slid Fabini inside and made Heyer the starting RT.
MonkFan4Life 10-13-2009, 01:49 PM It also coincided with having a competent guy playing QB. Collins threw the ball before receivers hit their break giving ther receiver the best chance to catch the ball. Collins was very quick with his decisions, something Campbell was not. Were still talking about a less than ideal OL for a career back up that didn't have any of the physical tools that JC has. He played some serious defenses in those 4 games and had this offense looking pretty good.

While I'm sure those adjustments helped, the x-factor was the 106.4 passer rating. His play completely re-energized our team.

Collins would be a sitting duck right now with our o-line...at least JC is a running duck.

His play, o line changes, improved running game, Smoot and Springs playing lighs out, the emotions running through the team, Collins' knowledge of the offense, etc.

He just may but I doubt we would've scored 9 points against the Rams. I doubt that the games would be as close against lesser competition. Before Samuels and Thomas went down there was the exact same production from the offense that we've seen through the 2 systems that Campbell has played under since being a starter here. His stats look good by the time the game is over but there aren't many points scored. Everyone needs to come to the realization that Danny was right about him. He believed in Jason and when he lost his faith in him he lost it. I wish JC well in his future endeavors but I doubt he'll be the stud that people think Washington is keeping him from becoming.

What would be the point of putting him in now? Maybe by effective game management he could account for 1 win, maybe 2. That leaves us at 6-10 or 7-9, right where we want to be to rebuild ???? He is extremely slow with a weak arm.
Putting Collins in completely stops the evaluation of JC and if JC isn't the guy doesn't allow us to look at Woodson.

SmootSmack 10-13-2009, 02:50 PM Whats playing lighs out?
aka super smart aka fighting their guts out
The last 4 games of 2007 Springs had something like 15 tackles, 10 passes defended and 4 interceptions
Smoot didn't have quite the stats but he made some huge tackles as I recall
