It appeared to me that the two plays in question were 3 step drops. On the first play it looks like DT was running a 5yd Dig. Looked like he squared it off nicely. JC made the read at the end of his drop (under 2 sec) and went to Sellers. I think why he checked off was he may have pre-read Man and the Rams dropped to Zone. I think he could've hit DT, but he may have been concerned about the S making a break on the ball.

On the second play Kelly comes under a clearout route by by ARE, Rams look like a Cover 3 Zone here and Kelly is wide open (throw was behind tho).Yeah. It looked like the throw to Kelly was made into tighter space than the throw to Thomas would have been. I also think DT rounded the route off, or did something else that Campbell wasn't expecting and gave up on him.

But as SS and I were suggesting earlier, the pre-snap read might not have been the whole story there.

Good points.

Man, the Phins sure can run the ball. They're killing it with the wildcat.

Shoulder injury could cause Sims to miss 'fairly significant' time (http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d812cf992&template=with-video-with-comments&confirm=true)

One of the Lions better players LB Ernie Sims is out with a shoulder injury.

That's pretty big. Outside of Sims, Calvin Johnson, and the undeveloped Stafford, talent is pretty thin in Detroit. Their D needs Sims.

This MNF game is pretty intense. I'm wondering why Miami isn't throwing to their TE's more....

he he he.

Got to hand it to Miami's coaching though. They know they have no chance with their secondary if Peyton gets too many possessions. They also know they can run it on the Colts. They are doing all they can to keep it out of #18's hands, and it still may not be enough.

I agree, they looked good in their run attack.

Don't forget Julian Peterson, Barry Foote, Anthony Henry, these are solid players.
