I didn't have the best start this season there were some huge surprises and crazy endings but that's the NFL. I hate the first week you can do all the analysis you want but you just can't completely know until you see them on the field. Week 2 and 3 of the NFL are known for being filled with HUGE surprises because no team wants to be 0-2 or 0-3; they know historically that if you fell to those numbers you can almost kiss your season Goodbye.
Ok some Quick Hits from last week.
• I gave Cincinnati the benefit of the doubt, but didn’t like what I saw from either team it was a bad game with a Crazy finish. One thing Denver’s defense looks a lot better.
• I have to say I didn’t give too much respect to the 49ers and the defense Coach Singletary has developed and gave too much to the Cardinals. SF surprised me and could be better than I expected
• Where was this Houston’s amazing offense everyone has talked about it’s amazing how Rex Ryan can make a team look foolish. The Jets looked like the Falcons of last year.
• The WildCat got his ass kicked on week one, after an offseason for DC to prepare for it, the new formation quickly looks old and in a need of an overhaul.
• Injuries there’s nothing more I hate to see in week 1 that season ending injuries. I feel for those guys they prepare for months work hard and 1 one play at the start of the season their year is over sick. Some Big games were lost for the season or for most part of the year that will really hurt their teams. You know the names just sick.
• There’s no place for me guys and Divas in the NFL, they can have all the talent they want but I haven’t seen one of those players win a SB. You can see that Cutler didn0t learn anything from this past offseason, and McKelvin what a douche, after his dumb play lost the effort on a great game by the other 45 guys and cost the improbable win to his teammates, to come out and say he will do that every time is just stupid.
• Oakland put a great fight and has a very good smash mouth defense but in the end it looks like Russell will be the downfall for this team yes he threw one big deep ball but he missed most of his passes all day. Oh and Heyward-Bey looks like another great pick by Al davis, NOT.
On to the games
Carolina at Atlanta -6 .5 Ovr/Und 43
Well Delhome is on playoffs form, we know that much, Carolina looked bad and in home where they’re usually good. I expect them to be better this week Atlanta doesn’t have the passrush of philly but I was impressed with how they controlled a Miami’s team last week. I’ll take the home team this week
Straight: Atl
Spread: Atl
Ovr/Und: Ovr
St. Louis at Washington -10 Ovr/Und 37
Washington’s offense looks bad but the Rams offense it’s nonexistent. The line is a little too high for me but I do expect the home team to take the W
Straight: Was
Spread: Stl
Ovr/Und: Ovr
Houston at Tennessee -6.5 Ovr/Und 40.5
Ten defenses looks great and we know how many TD’s Houston scored last week against a good defense. I just don’t see how Houston can win this game. Bet the Und.
Straight: Ten
Spread: Ten
Ovr/Und: Und
New Orleans at Philadelphia PK Ovr/Und 46
Well it looks McNabb injury is a little worse that said otherwise they wouldn’t have brought Garcia if it was only for 1 week. So, with McNabb hurt and Kobb in the commands (at least for 1 qrt), I would go with Brees and that Offense.
Straight: NO
Spread: NO
Ovr/Und: Ovr
New England at New York Jets 4 Ovr/Und 46
New England started slow but at the end found their groove, I’m worried about their defense it didn’t showed much and they lost Mayo. Rex Ryan’s team showed a lot more than I expected…. But I do believe NE team will be better this week after last week close call.
Straight: NE
Spread: NYJ
Ovr/Und: OVR
Cincinnati at Green Bay -9 Ovr/Und 42
Palmer doesn’t look like his old self Green Bay looked good against Chicago they just have too many weapons for the Bengals. Take the bay guys
Straight: GB
Spread: GB
Ovr/Und: Ovr
Arizona at Jacksonville -3 Ovr/Und 42.5
I’m having problems with this game on paper Arizona should be the team to take the W but on the field it looks totally different, Jacksonville played pretty good defense against the Colts, their running game looks way better than last year .I expect Arizona to bounce back but not this week
Straight:Jac
Spread:Jac
Ovr/Und:Und
Minnesota at Detroit 10 Ovr/Und 46.5
The Vikings started slow last week against Cleveland but at the end pulled out the guns. Detroit at least put up a fight something they didn0t do last year. I do expect them to win some games but not this week
Straight: Min
Spread: Min
Ovr/Und: Und
Oakland at Kansas City -3 Ovr/Und 38.5
These both teams impressed me more than I expected, I anticipate Cassel to start this week go for the home team.
Straight: KC
Spread: KC
Ovr/Und: UND
Tampa Bay at Buffalo -5 Ovr/Und 42
Buffalo played a perfect game against a great team for 58min, they are the best team here but you don’t know how bad the loss has affected this team.
Straight: Buf
Spread: TB
Ovr/Und: Und
Seattle at San Francisco -1.5 Ovr/Und 39.5
I like what SF showed last week and even if SEA beat a bad St. Louis team there were too many mistakes that a better team would had explode. I prefer a good defense against an ok offense.
Straight: SF
Spread: SF
Ovr/Und: Ovr
Pittsburgh at Chicago 3 Ovr/Und 38
Both teams lost their QB on their defense and have very good defense, one has a franchise QB one has a big douche guess who I’m taking
Straight: PIT
Spread: PIT
Ovr/Und: OVR
Cleveland at Denver : -3 Ovr/Und 37.5
Denver barely won a game that they needed to win. Cleveland put up a good fight against a great team. Hmmm this one is though take the under
Straight:Den
Spread: Cle
Ovr/Und: Und
Baltimore at San Diego : -3 Ovr/Und 40
For once the ravens showed offense, San Diego defense didn’t look great for the first half of the game and didn’t look so great at offense for the most part but at the end like they always do they pulled the Win…. If they don’t play for the whole 30 min they won’t get the W.
Straight:Bal
Spread:Bal
Ovr/Und: Ovr
New York Giants at Dallas : -3 Ovr/Und 44
Well the Giants are going to Arlington to try to spoils Jerry’s big debut. Both teams showed last week potential both also deficiencies, Dallas at defense especially against the run and New York in passing. These games are usually great games to watch NY might try to spoil Jerry’s party but I don’t think they will
Straight:Dal
Spread: Dal
Ovr/Und:Ovr
Indianapolis at Miami : 3 Ovr/Und 42
UPSET OF THE WEEK
Miami got totally dominated last week and the Colts almost lost the game at home. Week 2 it’s about surprises and this one is for me. They are playing home against a team they match up well if Miami doesn’t turn the ball over like in Atlanta they should take this win
