Only so much. Thinking Orakpo would slip was a total guess. (though I guess other inside info may have helped). Still...only so much. I wish I knew who our next coach will be
And spoil all the gut-wrenching intrigue through the offseason? I think we'd all feel better if we just knew. When you think of the way the offense is coming along, and will JC be here etc. It really could affect the next few years dramatically.

Did you think Orakpo would be available to us last year? :) I said IF he's available. If not, the highest ranked o-lineman that is valued that high. We'll see.
I thought if we didn't trade up for Sanchez that we would choose between Oher and Orakpo. I usually have a pretty good idea of where players will fall in the 1st round especially if the Skins are involved. Now what the Skins do in the later rounds im as lost as everyone else.

Nostradamus on his BEST day couldn't predict that. Maybe we'll draft a SS, and a TE? :silly:

Here's another small school guy I like. Running back out of Buffalo. Missed this year with a shoulder injury which has dropped him from a potential 2nd round pick to possibly the 4th or 5th round. Could be a steal

he is listed at 6-2 211 seems like an odd size for a nfl running back, is he like a hybrid speed/power guy?

Looking at the first round lineman, I'd say that we'd either draft Russel Okong up high or trade down and pick up Charles Brown the OT from USC. I think Shannahans biggest requirement for lineman is that they're athletic and agile. The 3 in between Okong and Brown seem more like maulers. The trade down for Charles Brown would probably be best because they could either
A. use the pick to draft another lineman or
B. trade up in the second round to select Colt McCoy if Shannahan and Allen desire to do so.

Unless he can play both ways and is a stellar OT then I ain't buying this. We need an OT and OG that can start out of the draft next year. Yes we need O lineman but if a great player is sitting at 6th pick in this draft we need to get him. No matter who we get in this draft we are two or maybe three drafts away from being a good team. I think the Giants game showed us all that and more.

Looks like we're sitting at the 6th pick currently. Of course that could change. Like was mentioned before, we're at least a couple years away from being competitive again.
