Better protection, better WRs, 2nd year in the system for Campbell, Fred Davis, Zorn's second season, more plays inserted into the game plan... it all adds up to a MUCH IMPROVED OFFENSE! If the Skins can average 3-5 more point a game and at least maintain their defensive standing from last year, they will be a FORCE! If they score more and the Defense is better, sky's the limit! Is it Sunday yet?!?!?!

Amen!
The offense certainly needs to produce better...don't care if it's Davis, Kelly, Thomas, Mitchell...or an old lady they pull out of the stands, or a combination there-of, we NEED better production!

From Matt Terl's blog. Maybe Davis IS having a tough time with his blocking assignments:

Two guys jumped out at me as having big days today. The first was rookie defensive end Jeremy Jarmon, who continues to impress. On one play he threw a blocker aside -- Fred Davis, I believe -- with as much force as I've ever seen. Saying that someone threw a guy "like a ragdoll" is an enormous cliche for a reason, but that's what this looked like. Jarmon also batted a pass down at the line against the first team offense, and just generally looked strong throughout the day.

They say no news is good news, we can't tell opposing teams all our weapons.

Lost in the shuffle during the opening season hype and the,for once, positive news of M. Kelly being awarded the starting number two WR spot is the fact that F. Davis has not been spoken of since his preseason TD three long weeks ago.

Now unless there is a covert operation to sneak attack teams with Davis as a weapon I'd say that he is going to see his fair share of hardcore pine coming into this season.

What's your thoughts on the silence of Davis's playing status? For being the best athlete on the board during the mid 2nd round I'd say he should at least have some expectation of contributing this year much like Thomas and Kelly, his 2nd round brethren.

Here Yahoo even has him listed as 3rd string TE below Yoder...yuck!
Washington Redskins - Depth Chart - NFL - Yahoo! Sports (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/teams/was/depthchart)

What I saw in preseason is that he is the #2, not #3, tight end. Yahoo appears to be mistaken on this one.

There's only so many passes to share. It's not like Moss, Cooley, MK, DT, MM and FD are all going to have these huge years. IF we see above average numbers out of half of those guys, it's a big improvement.

Who said he's forgotten? Did you not watch the exhibition games where he fumbled and came back to redeem himself with some nice TD catches? He will be part of the game plan, like I said in another post, last year with had 2 consistent receivers (didn't count ARE since he dropped too many critical passes). This year with the emergence of our 3 rookies from lat year and Marko Mitchell, we will have 7 seven players that I believe will come through and make Campbell a great QB and give us a very successful season. It's going to be a fun season in my opinion!!

Call me crazy but I think Fred Davis will eventually become our starting tightend with a new coaching regime on deck. Davis is bigger than Cooley and has great hands too. Davis is also more athletic. I love Cooley to death but I could see us getting a couple of picks for him in the offseason to start the rebuilding process along with Moss and Portis.

Crazy.
