It's that time of year -- when football stadiums are overrun with alcoholics forking over $10 for a bad beer and you get to indulge your crippling addiction to gambling and baby back ribs. More importantly, though, September marks the return of The World's Most Prestigious Power Poll. While the NFL continues mucking about with that Super Bowl thingie, hoping it'll one day catch on with the masses, you know what the rest of the world knows: the real competition is to be #1 in the The World's Most Prestigious Power Poll.
01. Pittsburgh Steelers [12-4]: The champs return most of last year's team and a great coaching staff. Repeating will be difficult, but don't under-estimate this bunch.
02. New England Patriots [11-5]: A pretty good bet to win the Super Bowl, though the offense, which should easily be the best in the NFL, will have to carry an aging and overrated defense.
03. San Diego Chargers [8-8]: The talent is there in abundance, but this team seems to under-achieve and I don't know how any decent team loses 8 games in the NFL's worst division.
Our weekly Power Poll has begun.

I hate power poles. They do not reflect reality, only what they remember from last year. Rarely they throw some type of prediction in there like the Patriots at number two, but in reality where else would you place them after the return of Brady. Last season the Atlanta Falcons and Miami Dolphins came out of the wood work to shock the world. Where are those type of predictions this year. Some people are saying Green Bay or Chicago will blow up this season. The truth is that both of those teams just had a bad season last year but were only one and two years removed from stellar seasons. If someone were to tell me that the Rams and the Browns were going to be those teams this year then I would believe that somebody had actually put some analysis into this.
In fact I will say it right now, this poll has the Browns and Rams ranked too low. Both teams are going to suprise this year with improved defensive play and play up to their capabilities on offense.

If the Vick/McNabb thing ain't going to work (and the offensive line looked very bad in preseason and they do not have a starting NFL middle linebacker on their team and they are starting Macho Harris in the opener) then why are the Eagles at #6?

Why is this based on last year when so much has changed? Worthless poll.
Browns and Rams LOL
The Browns might have a shot at being ok, maybe 6-7 wins and that might be a stretch at that.
The Rams are going to be pretty bad. They'll be lucky to win 4.

Then with the Rams coming in here next week, we shouldn't be taking them lightly like last year or another upset could be in the offering.

Westbrook is never truly healthy
