But guys like Troy and for us skins fans, Sean can't be replaced over night AND their aren't guys that good not starting.

I was watching some old ST stuff the other day. Man he was really on is way to possibly being the best to ever play the position.

Oh lord here we go again some guy dies and his potental legacy says he was going to be the best ever, no disrespect to ST but I think Lott and Woodson would have something to say about that.

Yes ST was good but going to be the best ever, I don't think so. If ST was alive right now I bet Troy P. is a better saftey then him.

I don't think it's a stretch to say ST could have been one of the best. He certainly was on his way.

Without getting into a whole discussion on statistics and probabilities, let's just say this isn't a real good comparison.Lotus is making an extreme comparison, but he's correct. If there was a Madden curse, something would have happened to Ray Lewis in 2004, but nothing happened until the next year.

Ergo, no one's cursed, but if you pick a player coming off an exceptional year, isn't their generally a pretty good chance the player will be banged up the next year. Polumalu could return in Week 5, and if he does so, he'll probably make the pro bowl. So how cursed is he really?

It's a bullshit idea because no one ever defines what is supposed to happen to the Madden cover athlete. Is it supposed to be a season ending injury? Decline in performance? Because one or both of those things happen to 90% of superstars in this league.

Considering that the last Madden cover athlete to really take a major injury was Vick in 2003, it's probably time that we let go of this silly idea. Unless we're going to attribute his felony to the Madden curse as well. I mean, why stop here?

I predict Larry Fitzgerald plays a completely healthy 16 games, and suffers a decline in production because his team goes 6-10.

Does that make him cursed?

Yes, yes it does. Now you understand! [\sarcasm]

Bullshit. I've watched Lott, Woodson and all the rest of them. Sean could hit as hard as all of them and Troy P., as fast as he is, can't cover as large an area as Sean could. If Sean played up like Troy, he would have made the highlight film every week. Lott was probably the most feared player in his time, but he wasn't nearly as quick and before Sean passed he was the most intimidating player in the league.

I don't have any voodoo dolls, dreamcatchers, and don't believe in curses  That being said, if something bad happens in at least 7 out of 11 cases (counting 2 for 2010) then I'm not accepting the cover if I'm an NFL superstar. I certainly don't want to see any Skins on the cover.

Considering that the last Madden cover athlete to really take a major injury was Vick in 2003Injury is injury. At least half of the cover guys had some sort of injury forcing them to miss games.

Ahmen... not going to comment further on Sean's potential greatness, and I didn't want to get into a pissing contestant with a fellow skins fan on whether or not he would have been.

Sean Taylor easily could've been THE best safety ever, assuming his play continued to improve as it was.

Did anyone else notice that Polamalu was literally in on every defensive play during the first half?
