Good point! How long has Jeff Fisher been coaching his team? Longer than our last three coaches combined, and a testement to structure and stability.

If things do not start well for us this season, we're going to again see what seperates us from teams that consistently contend year after year. We will again be talking about a new or different coach, a different QB and who knows what else, all signs of instability.

A laughing stock we not be yet, but as long as we continue changing the guard year after year we can continue to expect more of the same.

HA! He still couldn't beat Spurrier. What does that tell you? huh huh? Mua hahahaha. Fun n' Gun forever.

Perhaps it is because they had the best record in football last season at 13-3 that included a 10 game winning streak to start the season.

And they punished the Steelers 31-14 last year to win the top seed in the AFC.

It's not just about last season, but the body of work over a sustained period of time.....Something we don't know anything about since Gibbs - 1

Right. It's not just anecdotal. That's why I added up the total number of wins by the top-performing divisions. The NFC East was tied with the AFC East and AFC South in win totals. And the NFC South beat everybody.

Wins are one way of looking at the data, but I prefer the notion of "quality wins" which is what the link to CHFF provides.

If you crunch the numbers and compare raw win totals against net points and SOS it's pretty easy to see why the other divisions you listed fall beneath the NFC East.

I do think a lot of it comes down to what non-conference division you get in the scheduling. It would be very beneficial to be able to play the Raiders and Chiefs last year, or the Lions and Packers, for example, instead of having to play the Ravens and Steelers.

The answer is they win games. That's why.

I can't figure this one out either. Their star QB was relegated to second fiddle and everyone wants to talk about JC. They failed to keep their most important weapon on defense and we get laughed at for picking him up.

All in all the game last night looked bad from both teams but it was only the first game.

i don't go that definite, but they were 13-3 last year, this year they are 0-1

And, I'm sorry to say, as we shall be come twenty-hundred hours next Sunday....

Sounds about right. Probably the main reason Michael Vick got to all those pro bowls late in his career when he had no business being there (earlier though he definitely earned it). Plus there was Marshall Faulk when he rushed for around 900 yards during his Madden Curse year. Maybe fans and even players should be held out of the voting process. At least secretly.

I'll go so far to admit that stats aren't everything but at Kerry Collins greatest achievement seems to be he didn't F-Up where as if they had left the offense up to Vince Young they probably would have had to many turnovers to deal with. Michael Roos and Chris Johnson had more to do with that offenses success then Kerry Collins ever did.

Collins is crafty. I can't remember what game it was last year, but the Titans running game gut shut down and Collins went on a tear passing the ball. He proved that they couldn't be forced into being one-dimensional even though they sometimes are because they can.

Like I've said before, I like the idea of flying under the radar. If Zorn can get this team to play together this year, and if he can toughen them up, I see no reason why the skins cannot get at least 9 wins this year.

And yes, the titans are a better team. I think in terms of team overall strength RIGHT NOW, only marginally better than the skins, but better none the less.
