Bills cut their starting LT too? WTF is going on in Buffalo? I don't know much about him, not as if we have the room to sign him anyhow, but he was their starting LT -- he must be somewhat desirable.

MTK 09-09-2009, 01:10 PM He's a better fit at RT and even that's a bit iffy. Not a good start for Buffalo. jdlea 09-09-2009, 01:14 PM He's a better fit at RT and even that's a bit iffy. Not a good start for Buffalo. He's still better than a feel good story who gets a roster spot for losing weight. I like Mike Williams and I hope he succeeds, but I just don't think he can block well enough to warrant a spot on the roster right now. I say, go after Walker and cut Williams (or Batiste) if he signs. stu_nna 09-09-2009, 01:18 PM He's still better than a feel good story who gets a roster spot for losing weight. I say, go after Walker and cut Williams (or Batiste) if he signs. Cut Williams? No thanks, this guy is a powerful run blocker who just has rust cause he hasn't played for years. Once his body get adjusted to the NFL (ill say week 4) he is going to be a force to be reckoned with. Too much upside to warrant cutting Jay Schroeder 09-09-2009, 01:18 PM I'll be at the Bills Pats game Monday night watching Buffalo's "o-line" allow Trent Edwards to get molested. Should be entertaining... I think they are starting two traditional guards at left and right tackle GMScud 09-09-2009, 01:25 PM Yeah, a quick peek at their depth chart (http://www.buffalobills.com/team/depth-chart-list.html), and all I can really say about their O-line is that it's very young. Not much else to brag about. One of their starting guards is Eric Wood, who's a rookie that was drafted as a center if I'm not mistaken. skinsfan69 09-09-2009, 01:56 PM Cut Williams? Too much upside to warrant cutting He's been out of the game for two years and you can already see his body is never ever going to hold up. I'd be on the phone with the guy Buff. cut asap. Once his body get adjusted to the NFL (ill say week 4) he is going to be a force to be reckoned with. Too much upside to warrant cutting When was the last time anyone of note considered Mike Williams a "powerful run blocker"? College, maybe? And how much upside can an out of shape, 29 year old offensive tackle that was released while he was in his prime possible have? Mike Williams is useless right now, when they are very much in need of depth on the offensive line. I still can't figure out the logic, if any, that was used in making the decision to keep him. I don't see how it could hurt to take a look at a guy that actually played in the league, last season. CultBrennan59 09-09-2009, 02:02 PM they'll probably get levi jones then...and i'll take walker over batiste and probably williams but it's not a big upgrade like people may think vallin21 09-09-2009, 02:28 PM If Samuels went down I'd feel more comfortable w/ Walker at RT than Williams. That said, Walker wants money and I don't think we can give him what he wants, but if he's willing to take a pay cut then he's worth signing. If we signed him, then the FO and Buges thought Williams was a failed project and wasn't ready for live bullets at RT. It would be an upgrade but an expensive one. |
