roth74va 09-07-2009, 09:42 AM I dont know if he is guilty or not, he should be slapped for dealing with a skank like Tila Tequila anyways.
IMO, all too often people have blinders on when it comes to these situations. If someone commits a crime, and they are good at something, all of a sudden the situation is "different". The list is a long one, when it comes to athletes/actors/celebrities that have been caught on the other side of the law. For some reason just because he can sack a quarterback well, or dunk a basketball like noone else, he is above the law? Society is warped, and some of the people on here fall into that category.
Couple months back Chris Brown(singer) choked his girlfriend until she blacked out, but because the guy can sell his stupid music, its all ok. Do you really think OJ wasnt guilty, or Kobe? Please..........too many people looking through rose colored glasses. It doesnt matter if he is guilty or not, money will get him off. Too bad for Vick he was charged in Virginia, being a commonwealth state, we dont take any crap here.

Thanks Bro, just hate when people blame cops for everything.
EARTHQUAKE2689 09-07-2009, 09:48 AM Kobe was innocent of rape, and the OJ think has been beaten to death already.

I blame the ppl who call the cops on other ppl for no good reason.
budw38 09-07-2009, 09:53 AM Thanks Bro, just hate when people blame cops for everything. Nice info 89 . Thanks for your service , you are right , too many people look to blame first ignoring evidence / facts . It is sad the same people who always blame the cops , are the ones who would bitch at them for taking 5 minutes to respond to an emergency to help them or a loved one .
CRedskinsRule 09-07-2009, 09:58 AM Merriman's side:
Statement from Shawne Merriman (http://www3.signonsandiego.com/stories/2009/sep/06/shawnestatem23448/?chargers)
On September 6, 2009 the San Diego Sheriffs Department responded to a citizens complaint that was initiated by Tila Nguyen (aka Tila Tequila). I was taken into custody based upon that complaint. At the time, I was concerned about her welfare given the intoxicated state she appeared to be in and I encouraged her to stay until safe transportation could be provided. We would all do our best to help a friend if we considered their actions to be detrimental to their personal safety. I in no way caused any harm to Ms Nguyen, however, paramedics were called and she was examined but no injuries were reported. She was released and has since returned to Los Angeles, California. There have been no charges filed against me. I want to thank the San Diego Sheriffs Department for their professionalism. I will continue to cooperate fully with the Department and I look forward to clearing my name regarding these false allegations. I want to put this behind me so I can continue to focus on a successful season for the San Diego Chargers.
very well written I thought.

And Chris Brown is innocent too, no his dumbass girlfriend will get beaten again.
Of course Kobe was innocent, he is the best player in the NBA. And when your innocent, you dont have to pay people off to keep it out of court. This is exactly what Im talking about, and I wont even play the race card, this is old news. Lemme guess Michael Jackson was innocent too right? You guys make me laugh how easily you forget just because someone is a star, it just makes it all better.

Dude, Kobe's accusor was a psychopath. She bragged about the encounter and her initial statement was inconsistent as well.
As you have proven, star's get convicted in the court of public opinion whether they did anything or not.
Pocket$ $traight 09-07-2009, 10:44 AM Interesting, according to "Lights Out" statement, no charges have been filed against him.
Hmmmm....
Can we say, "Change the channel Marge?" And those waiting for Czar Goodell to suspend him, don't hold your breath.

As you have proven, we are all too willing to look past someone breaking the law because he plays professional sports, and makes a ton of money. It happens over and over and over.................
