Hmmmmm. I just can't reach the same level of optimism most have. For one thing I don't think our defense has shown any kind of elite dominance as of yet...I'm still hoping for a surprise come opening day such as our d-line consistently collapsing the pocket and getting pressure and the "holes" in the flat and among the secondary closing faster. But honestly what I've seen thus far is that w/o Rak and phat Al giving it 110% on the downs they have together on the field our defense goes back to it's bland but consistent self. The holes in the secondary will get picked apart by the better OCs out there. And lastly Laron Landry seems to have lost even another step from where he was last season (obviously not a reference to age but what I mean is he's been just a step or two late on tons of plays already this off-season). My hope is he surprises us w/ a breakout season, my fear is he turns toward a bust player for a 6th overall pick.

Offensively I expect a better scheme and weapons arsenal than we've had in years. The billion $ question is whether the oline is for real. If the oline has gotten it's shit together and stays healthy throughout the game I see us take this one 28-24...if the oline is what it's been the last couple of years we fall to the Gmen 24-14.

Not going to make a prediction since it is almost a waste of time. What O will show up for us? Not sure why you guys think we are going to blow NY out of the water with these 14+pt margins. Our first string offense played well for basically one game(Patriots), anything else was a repeat of last years crap. Thomas and Kelly give us more weapons, but look at the pass plays being called. Still mostly the under 10 yard variety, so any of the height and speed factors are somewhat negated. I think we can win if we play like we did against NE last week, but it will be a lot closer than 2 TDs.

I'd love to put on my B & G glasses and say we're going to cream these guys - but I just don't believe it. We always have trouble in the Meadowlands swampland.

The offense just hasn't jelled yet. Zorn has been consistently out-coached since the second half last season; teams will put 8 in the box to stop Portis until JC makes them pay for that. He won't.

ST will continue to be a heart-stopper. Rak will get confused playing two positions until Greg lets him play ONLY at DE.

BL - hope I'm dead wrong. I'm also happy to eat humble pie next week if the Redskins win!

A10 is right about us in the Meadowlands also. Even during the pre Eli days when we were on paper the superior team we always found a way to lose there.

Many of the responses I'm reading remind me of the old SNL clips of "Da Bears" fans discussing how Ditka would do against a myriad of opponents. The optimism is fantastic. Unfortunately, I've developed too much fatalism when it comes to the Skins.

Look, we're an improved team this year from the team that finished 2-6 last year, but we're not in the same league with the g-men. Giants will cover this game by ten points, but it won't really be that close.

I thought the O LOOKED as good against the Jags. The 28 yarder to ARE was encouraging even though it got called back and the bomb to ARE that he dropped was the best pass I've seen JC make. I want to think Blache was holding back, but we'll see. All in all, I'm optimistic.

YES. I cannot believe the season is finally upon us.

Prediction: PAIN.

Thank God I can finally say that.

the same g-men that finished 1-3, after losing Plaxico, and who are going in with 7 WR's because no one stood out? I understand that the giants have had our number the last 2 years. But they are not the same team that went to the SB or even that went 12-4 last year.

The pre-season D is not what you are going to see Sunday from either team. Both teams will be game planning, and we will see what happens, but there is no way they are a 10 point better team than the Skins.

Are they that a different a team that, without Plaxico, cruised to an easy 16 point victory in DC last year in week 13?
