giants recievers are fast, and hakeem nicks is big AND fast and played well in the summer.... dont under-estimate.

Totally agree, Nicks looked great in pre-season and I believe that just like Malcolm Kelly he will play very well and get better as the season progresses. That's right don't under estimate.

I guess it's an agree to disagree.

I will agree that Eli picked us apart that game, but that is one game out of the last 6.

No way of knowing on the receivers till this weekend, but I absolutely would take our top 5 over their top 5 every time.

I have always thought Zorn has called effective games, but again that's an agree to disagree point, because how do you really prove it. You can call a perfect game, but penalties, dropped passes, fumbles, and other player mistakes can cause the team to lose. The question is whether the called play had a chance to be an effective play, and the only call I ever remember seeing that was a "What is he thinking" moment was the Fred Davis reverse .

Fortunately all the speculating ends in 3 1/2 days! Roll on!

Opinions on playcalling is soooo subjective. I know most of us hate on Cowherd, but I heard him make a good point in regard to this topic recently. He basically said as fans we have no idea what's going on when it comes to playcalling, how complex it is, the situational calls, plays that are setting something up for later on, etc.

I think it's true. It's part of the reason I hate listening to people bang on the playcalling after a game. What we see on TV is really just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to playcalling and it's really a pointless debate.

Anyone predicting the Giants to score twenty plus on us have to be crazy. Similar to the Cowboys, the Giants lost one HELL of an offensive weapon in Burress, not to mention a great secondary receiver in Toomer. Pretty much the brunt of the offense is going to fall on Jacobs with Eli throwing to mostly rookie WRs.

We had one of the best defensive teams in the NFL last year and this was WITHOUT Haynesworth and Orakpo. If the Giants win, it sure as hell won't be because they're marching up and down the field on us.

I have to disagree here. NY moved the ball on our defense pretty easily in both games. And if not for stupid playcalling and horrible INt's by Eli in that first game, the score could have easily gotten out of hand. I could see NY easily scoring 20 + on our defense. Hixon killed our seconday in that 2nd game. Let's see if the addition of Haynesworth and Orakpo makes a difference. You have to remember that NY has one of the best O-lines in the NFL and they're better in the trenches than we are.

Redskins 17 - Giants 12

One of those ugly NFC East games where you wonder WTF they were doing all preseason.

^ but we still got ate up in the passing game.....remember? .... 'bend dont break bullshit'..... so soon to 4get.

i've learned over the years to be REALISTIC when hoping for a win.

Ryan OHalloran in his Wed news and notes had this tidbit:
*QB Eli Manning has a career 68.1 passer rating against the Redskins (nine games) with seven touchdowns and six interceptions. The Giants are 6-3 in those games. He's reached 300 yards only once (305 last November at FedEx).
That seems like a mixed review. Terrible rating, 6 ints. but the 6-3 is definitely preferred. Still

6-4 after Sunday.

And what position does he play on Sunday?

He holds every one of those players future in his hands,as a GM he has done his job and is as much of the team as any player or coach on that field.
