Devin Thomas has great speed, but he's only got one gear. That's why he's not an effective route runner. He may be the only guy on the field that needs to slow down.

Santana Moss, on the other hand, knows how to shift gears while running his routes. That's how he was able to catch those two bombs from Brunell against Cowboys. He believes in his speed and knows, if he's even he's leaving. He may start his route running 1/2 or 3/4 speed, then all of a sudden he hits the accelerator and he's gone.

Running pass routes is just like making love. You must have patience, know when to throttle back and when to give it all you got.

The Redskins want Jason to step it up. Before Jason calls anyone out he needs to check himself first. He needs to work on his accuracy first and foremost.

Jason Campbell had a 62.3% accuracy percentage last season that was better than all the other quarterbacks in the NFC East. His accuracy is not what he needs to work on, he needs to work on going through his reads and taking more risks.

Redskins Insider - Redskins Waiting on Thomas (http://voices.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/jason-reid/malcolm-kelly-appeared-handily.html?wprss=redskinsinsider)

"It's not a play here, a play there. Every play is important. You've got to be where you're supposed to be every time. If you want people to depend on you, you've always got to be focused."

Campbell taking charge, very nice.

This team can do without Thomas, IMO. Santana 1, Kelly 2, ARE 3, Marko 4, DT 5. He's irrelevent and has been woefully unimpressive. The other night he was jumping up in the air to catch balls throw at his head. He's weak and doesn't make the team any better.

Yeah that 62.3% comes from check downs mostly. Half of Santana's passes were screens or 4 yard hitches. When he gets that percentage while attacking the defenses then I will leave him alone. The kid needs to work on his accuracy along with his reads as well. Don't come at me like he's a very accurate quarterback of which he is not.

Do we really need to turn this into another JC hating thread?

Let's see. How many threads do we have on JC hating? Do they out number the Colt threads? If not, then, obviously, more JC hating threads are required.

JC has been a fairly accurate passer going all the way back to Auburn, when he completed nearly 70% of his passes as a junior.

Please update your understanding of Campbell's skills.

No need to update my understanding of Campbell's skills because Im only stating what I have seen from him on a week to week basis. I have watched plenty of Campbell's games throughout his career with us and he does not have the accuracy on the short to intermediate passes let alone the deep passes. How many times have we seen him throw high to Moss on a 5-yard curl route or a slant route. His screen passes are even worse. Why is it that we call a screen pass to our receivers or backs only to see the ball go up high and our receivers not having enough time to gather themselves to move forward. He needs to work on his accuracy asap.

And you don't see the self-contradiction in you logic? I have seen him complete many difficult passes. 62% is 62% no matter how you cut it.
