Really who is exactly making those plays then?

No pressure at all against NE. AH was brought in to speed up qbs and create turnovers. Havent been a ton of those on the first team either. I dont see a good amount of sacks by our DEs or LBs.

I am not saying AH's health is a problem, but he hasn't made the crazy impact he did in Tenn so far.

2 preseason games and how many snaps??

C'mon let's give it a realistic shot before making statements like that.

I am not throwing away the move to get AH. I am just saying so far, in 2 preseason games, he hasn't been like he was in Tenn.

There can be a ton of reasons. If you see my first post, I noted of Theisman said he would be fine by game 1. I think so too. I just think AH looks outta shape as of NOW.

I think he will be fine by game 1.

Let's also remember before we start to dissect AH's performance. Let's remember it is only Pre-Season. We haven't even played a meaningful football game yet. If we get to week 8 and the defense looks pedestrian then you and I can start making claim's of AH not helping, but until then remember, he has been regarded by many redskin hater analysts as the best DT in football. Some even say the best defensive player in football. Don't doubt the big guy yet. He is a beast.

We are going to be good defensively.

I agree. If he's not making the "ooh aaah" plays, he's definitely helping someone else make them. Doc was saying that if he wants to be like Reggie White he may have to get in better shape because Reggie played every down. If he's playing at 350, maybe he should be at 330-335. He also said at this point in the season it's too late but the coaches may want to talk to him in the future about what it would take to be like Reggie if that's what he really wants. Only AH can decide that. As it is, the guy is pushing 600 lbs. around on every play. Sometimes more. If the other players on the line don't make plays that's on them, not AH IMO. He's doing his part, they just need to do theirs. As far as Monty goes, if he wasn't so lazy they might not of needed AH to begin with.

Excellent point. Let's hope Monty learns to understand this.

I dont think people really understand my comments.

I simply was stating what other people have said about AH. I also agree with those things as I have seen them. Also our Dline/D has been below expectations, correct?
Not just versus NE.

If I say something critical about AH doesnt mean I think he is now a dud. But at the same time, I will look for these things during the regular season and see if they have been improved upon. I don't see what the problem is with this approach.

If he is upset then maybe he can work harder to improve and give the coaches no option but to play or start him. There is no entitlement other than earning the position.

Nicely put.

Well some folks have said that the defense has been very vanilla, so I hope that Blache has saved the best for the regular season. It would not surprised me one bit.

In regards to the NE game, Brady is a hard QB to pressure. Still, I think the team get some pressure during this game, plus we knocked him down once (not a sack, but I don't think we had many QB knock downs last season) . Also, I have noticed a lot of holding non-calls throughout the preseason (which makes sense if you are looking out for QBs), so I think we're going to see our defense knocking down QBs and causing opposing lines to draw holding penalties. And I do hope that we've seen the tip of the iceberg this preseason in regards to how disruptive our line can get.

Depth at defensive line gives the coaching staff options of rotating players in and out, keeping key players fresh for important plays. Look at how the Giants are able to rotate defensive linemen and keep pressure up front. I'm looking for the same type of effect in Washington. Keep Monty.

Exactly, defense wins games. Imagine just the 4 DL men getting to the QB without having to send a LB or CB.

I guess I must have watched the first team D in the Pits game with Rose Colored Glasses because I thought we had preasure on Ben just about on every play. Now against the Pats it seemed like they did a good job of protecting Brady but he also does a good job of protecting himself by getting the ball out very quick.
