It won't matter who is technically starting, both will see plenty of action.

I think that is how it will work. I think between the 2 and ARE the 3 of them are going to all get a bunch of snaps. Who "starts" at WR2 and WR3 is so dependent on the set too.

Malcolm has to get his body turned around on that fade pattern. He made no adjustment on the ball, his hands are sticky though. DT will make the highlight plays. MM is as good as both of them. I hope it makes a difference this season, one more TD and MM gets my vote.

Sounds good to me.

it'll be malcolm kelly..he's a poor mans larry fitzgerald, and every time I would hear clinton portis on the radio he would always say things that would always hype up MK, and if he would mention him and devin thomas on the radio, he would be sure to mention MK, then Devin thomas

Moss is the split end. I agree with you that Devin had an excellent game at flanker against NE, and I especially like his speed on KO returns. That said, I believe Malcolm will be the starter, and Devin will see some opportunities coming off the bench.

Really?

Well to be fair that chart still has Hagans, Marquardt and the others who were cut.

That's an error. Moss was originally (last year) slated to be the starting flanker with either DT or MK emerging as the starting X (or Split End).

That didn't work out quite as planned and ARE was the starting flanker and Moss as the starting split end.

Zorn has said on a couple of occasions this summer that Moss will start at the X, and that there is a competition for the starting flanker spot.

I think DT will ultimately be named the starter at flanker because that should be his position long term. And they will continue to develop Kelly as a split end, because that should be his position long term.

Thomas has made the most progress of the two so I'm going with him.

That is what I thought too until I saw the depth chart. Whoever is in charge of updating the site over there needs to get on the ball. They are passing off bad information.

I remember the articles about Moss starting as the X now, and that Thomas was supposed to be the Z. What confused me a tad is that I rarely ever used the term Flanker or Split End. I think that Junior high was the last time. I have always used X or Z. So when I went to the official website of the Washington Redskins to see who was what I assumed that the flanker was the X and that the Split end was the Z.

Now that I have thought about it, I understand it. The Split end is the X because it is the End usually lined up on the line of scrimmage and split out wide on the opposite side of the field as the tight end. The Flanker is the Z who is usually lined up wide but in the backfield or off of the LOS. I was never confused about the Y, there is usually ony 1 TE.
