All of you guys bashing Randy Moss crack me up. He's been nothing but a leader on NE's team. If we make the trade to Oakland and he's wearing burgundy and gold, catches 20+ TD's in one season, takes JC's game to the next level, all of you would be sniffing his jock. Amazing.

How has he been a leader? Phenomenal player, yes. But leader?

I can understand where Tanner is coming from. It's not so much that Moss said no but it's the way that he said no. Seriously though you guys, if that was Clinton Portis who treated someone like that he'd get ripped for about a good 75 pages here. So Moss saying no would be one thing but the way that he went at Tanner was a lil messed up to me.

I really don't care if its Moss or Portis the guy is not even a reporter and just doing a blog for hi brother who just burned them for over 75 yards. If Portis did this I'd ask why the guy was even in the locker room.

Exactly. People are putting this in the context of a normal reporter approaching Moss for an interview. This is the brother of the dude that just dusted your secondary, and did it quite well I might add. It's the perception here the undermines his motive a bit.

Anyway, did Shawn Springs get on the field for the Pats? I almost forgot he's playing for them now.

Hopefully Tanner is still “listening” and has a sense of humor.

Two things:

1. When parents name their child, they should try to get something that doesn't necessarily rhyme but rolls off the tongue nicely. The Cooley’s did this well with this for Chris not Tanner.

2. Tanner you need to blog about how bad your brother looks on Madden 10, his helmet is all jacked up.

Ok thanks for listening and I am sorry for your encounter with Snoop Dog I mean Randy Moss.

I think Cooley's blog is really outstanding, and no doubt that's in large part to Tanner's efforts on it. I don't know him, but he seems like a pretty smart guy and the blog is proof that he works hard.

Does he benefit from being Chris' brother? Sure he does. Let's put it this way, I don't think he gets a media credential from the Redskins if he's not CC's brother. We've had our own hard working, amateur reporter here who-even with the backing and support of professional media-was still denied access so yeah Tanner I think benefits from having the last name Cooley.

But there are a lot of us who have benefited from family connections. It's really about what you do with those connections. And all indications are that Tanner isn't some sort of slacker just mooching off his brother's fame.

Even Tanner admitted, I believe, that it was his first time in an opposing locker room (particularly immediately after a game) so maybe it was a bit of a shell shock to him how the "other side" acts. Imagine if it was a regular season game, and the Pats had lost?! But, having been there myself, I know it's frustrating to have someone snap at you when you're just trying to do your job.

That said, if you're going to sell yourself as a reporter (which I'm not necessarily suggesting Tanner did), then commit to the sell. It's a bit disingenuous, in my opinion, to race back to your blog to talk about what an ass Moss is. The story should have ended in the Pats' locker room.

I know what it's like to have an athlete be a total dick to you. I've already mentioned in the past here on this site about certain Redskins who were like that. And yeah it can be damn frustrating. Not sure that a blog post was the best way to respond. Imagine though if this was Tanner's profession. As in, he's got to get a story in to meet a deadline and he can't get a player to answer one question.

But, it is what it is. For every Randy Moss who doesn't want to talk to you, there's a Danny Wuerffel who will always talk to you whenever you need, or a Tre Johnson who won't stop talking to you even when you don't want to.

I did manage 4 free first row tickets behind home plate at Wiggly Field, but the real kicker was the free beer and food for the entire game.
