SmootSmack 08-28-2009, 09:07 AM i cant believe you say he owes them nothing. he has a signed contract. doesn't his signature mean anything? while im all for players getting their money, quit being a dick. and act like a professional. after all, that's what you are. and on a side note, you wouldn't believe how many people over at E.S want to trade Santana Moss for him. what a joke
He's already said he should have acted better and apologized for it. What I'm saying though is that while he has signed a contract and should honor it, the team may not necessarily honor his contract either.
#56fanatic 08-28-2009, 09:20 AM Blown out of proportion. For one thing, like saden said he owes them nothing really. They could get rid of him at a moment's notice if they wanted to, even if he wanted to stay. Plus, him sitting on the helmet was before practice even began. And Marshall has already apologized for not using better judgment overall.
While he didn't act this way necessarily, just remember that a few years ago Portis was in Denver too wanting to get out.
Did you watch the video? I can't believe a knowledgable football fan would say his actions were blown out of proportion. he acted like a spoiled little brat, and according to PFT he may be in line for conduct detrimental to the team and could lose over $500k if suspended the first 4 games. I dont see why these idiots do this. Plus, who the hell is going to give up a 1st or 2nd for an idiot that acts the way he does. He should bust his ass, put up numbers and it would be alot easier for Denver to get a better deal and trade him, or make him play out his contract.
Daseal 08-28-2009, 09:33 AM I think Marshall will be fine in a new environment. Denver can trade him for a 4th, maybe a 3rd and make the best of the situation. Denver isn't winning the Super Bowl this year, get something for him before he walks this year.
dmek25 08-28-2009, 09:35 AM 56, its all about the money. he figures if he bitches enough, ala Cutler, he will get what he wants. they should trade him to Detroit

How long is the video...and how long do you think practice lasted?
Obviously you can't condone that type of behavior, but he did apologize right away and my guess is they'll put this in the rear view and in a few weeks once the season is underway it will be a distant memory.
Chico23231 08-28-2009, 09:48 AM No excuse, you are a paid professional. The conduct of punting the ball and batting the ball away is indefensible in the video. If he is really that unhappy, just stay home. He is more likely to get what he wants that way than to show other teams that he is a little b*tch when he doesnt get his way.
freddyg12 08-28-2009, 09:50 AM I heard him on Mike & mike this morning. He said "error in judgement" about 5 times in a 40 second interview. I don't doubt that there is real animosity between he & the broncos, but overall this is a case of fans & media getting to see too much of a day at the office.
Yes, he should be punished by the team, but not anything major. His behavior was poor, but to some degree this is being blown out of proportion. (At least he didn't Michael Westbrook their starting rb!)
Marshall sounds like a reasonably smart guy, smart enough to know that he's not doing himself any favors. This guy is a top 5 wr at least. If the broncos let him go, they better get something big in return. I can't think of anyone on their team more deserving of a franchise tag than him.
Sadly for teams in the broncos position, someone else might reap the rewards of them 'training' him & dealing w/him growing up. I think he'll grow up. He will have big years no matter where he goes, as long as he's not in trouble.
skinsfan69 08-28-2009, 10:22 AM Marshall can't keep his nose clean and that's why he doesn't have a new contract. And acting like a little bitch at practice isn't helping the situation. Sucks for him cause he deserves more $. I'm surprised that our FO hasn't made a push for him. Perhaps he's not on the trading block.
Jay Schroeder 08-28-2009, 10:24 AM He'll prob end up with the Patriots and act like a total pro ala Randy Moss. They seem to get lucky like that a lot
