What we all have to remember is this is a reporter saying this not JZ, and all reports coming out of TC are the battle is close between DT & MK. I want all our WR's to do great it allows JC to have much more weapons.

Devin Thomas better watch out or he will be watching from the sidelines and if he gets demoted back that far to #5 I promise you he will sulk and his development with this team will be at an end. Not that I care that much because I never thought he was any good.

Happy for him to prove me wrong, but the dude is just too stiff. No fluidity at all.

I always thought that too, he looks more like a running back, doesn't seem that agile. Maybe he just looks that way due to his bulk?

That was a tough grab he made sat. night from collins. Otherwise, he looks hesitant/lost. His body language doesn't look assertive at all. Hopefully, he'll step up. I agree w/you that he may be a problem if he is demoted.

Of course we'd all like to see MM have a colston like year, but if he makes the 53 & gets on the field some as the 4 or 5 wr, that is stellar for a 7th round pick that Vinny said is still "raw."

This is a perfect example of why you need to keep & acquire more draft picks; a guy you draft in the 7th might turn out to compete for time w/a couple guys you draft in the 2nd. If Rob Jackson & Horton continue to play well, that's pretty good success rate for the last couple years in the 7th.

everyone needs to chill on the marko mitchell bandwagon....including myself. he had a nice game against some 3rd teamers. what we're hearing in practice is very encouraging. one thing i like is he's not backing down from the db's in practice and then he did it in a game. but let's see how he does the next two weeks before we crown him the next colston. lol.

Do you guys think we could have the second coming of the "posse" here. God it has been so long since we have had more than one WR that has had good production. Since Gibbs 2.0 arrived it's the Portis, Cooley, Moss Show. I would love to see a second coming of Monk, Clark, and Sanders.

Could this group have the talent. Breaking it down Clark = Moss, Monk= Kelly, Clark = Are. I was a kid back in the 80's but I remember that Clark was our deep threat. Monk was the man in the middle who caught everything ( he seemed to be the guy who always converted on third downs and my personal favorite of the 3 ). Sanders I can't seem to remeber what he did best other than being on the field making plays. I still remember those guys all putting up a 1000 yards in one season. Man those were the days. The days when we were feared and always talked about as being one of the best teams in football. I long for that once again. :)

He was actually in the game and contributing earlier than the "3rd teamer" defense.

Marko looks like the real deal.

I agree 100%. I mean I don't think he's necessarily this year's version of Billy McMullen. But let's see some more out of him, blocking, catching the ball in traffic, running after the catch, knowing where the first down marker is before we get too carried away.

he's already done more than taylor jacobs ever has, and we talked him up for two solid years.

and he's shown more promise than devin thomas for that matter, as sad as that may be.

he didn't just get a lucky TD, he consciously set it up and showed real ups for that thing. if he can do that a couple more times, he deserves time on the field.

but talking about him being the #2 at this point is pretty premature. first he has to get that #5 spot.

That's basically what I was trying to get at

I'm not sure how this will all play out, but i think at this time next year, its entirely possible Mitchell will be ahead of Kelly and Thomas on the depth chart. If nothing else, the emergence of Mitchell has ensure that ARE will be cut after the 2009 season (Please, no one tell me his cap number makes him uncuttable - the revised contract he signed this offseason makes him very cuttable if the skins chose not to excercise an option to extend him through something like 2015 if memory serves me).

My early prediction for 2010 is that our starting WR's will be Moss and Mitchell/Kelly, with Moss moving into the slot in 3WR sets and Mitchell and Kelly lining up on the outside.

As of right now, I only see Thomas getting extended playing time if one of our other 3 WRs get hurt... which is a strong possiblility with Kelly and Moss.
