Qualify, he's shown you nothing. To this point, I have to assume you're blind.
Take a play, any passing play from the Zorn era, and break it down for me on what Campbell didn't do to show you. If you've actually seen enough Campbell to draw any conclusions, this is a very simple exercise.
And..go.
He doesn't have to show you anything. JC's the one that has something to prove.

You're coming off like a pissy ex-girlfriend. I've never seen so much whine in one place.

You guys are the ones that's downplaying 2 dismal preseason games after knowing that Campbell's under a microscope. I'm sick of seeing the defense of yet another good-guy redskins qb that might be good (just wait until next week).

... I'm not sitting through this again. This is dejavu - the other qb was named ramsey.

Is it just me od do you guys feel that Zorn tried to run too much inside the redzone?
ran 3 in a row with starters. JC can move, why not try a rollout?
ok,time for practice.
Zorn stinks at calling plays IMO. It's the freakin pre season and he's running the damn ball which wasn't the problem last year. I'd be throwing it almost every down.

To judge him by what happens in the preseason is to judge you as a person using only posts in this thread.
So if he comes out in week 1 and has a meh day, no one can point to the preseason and say, "look it's a trend". You still have to base his performance off a string of a regular season games. How long of a string? Depends on how it goes. 7 straight positive value games last year, and you focused on the very next two when coming to a conclusion on him. See?

I'm excited about JC this year. He might crash and burn, but I think he has a great chance to take the next step. He has some limitations, but he also has plenty of strengths. If the WR corps takes a positive step forward I like his chances even more.

He needs to prove something to everyone. Most of all to the people that he works for. A preseason game is still a game. There's no excuse, I am assuming that he was trying to play at his absolute best. And was below average while trying. He didn't make fatal mistakes, but he didn't make any plays either.

Well, with guys like Dockery, Bridges, Rinehart expected to get playing time they didn't get last year it's important I think to get them some reps run blocking.
Still, it's a fine line in the preseason between just tossing plays out there and trying to simulate regular season offensive scenarios.

Despite your prior assertion that you're also considering past play, you seem to be a slave to the idea of a "clean slate" in this presason. Campbell has no more to prove than anyone else on the roster, and can only do so much before getting an entire game to play.
Honestly though, even if you judged him by just what you saw in the preseason, the results would be mixed, and you'd want to see more of him. By writing him off, you're showing some degree of non-objectivity.
