Marko has huge problem. He is not a factor on coverage or return teams. How do we keep him as the fifth if he doesn't play hardly any special teams?

If he is that good I would want to keep him off the practice squad in case someone grabs him, but I just don't see how they can keep him?

Let's see if he really flashes something in the next two games and maybe he makes it impossible for them to cut him.

Didn't we just have a thread where Zorn said the 5th WR doesn't need to be an ST standout?

Did he? If that's the case Marko is in really good shape.

Just my take.....everyone seems enamored with Hackett and Hagens, I'm not. Hackett has spent 5 yrs in the league already and has failed to be a star. He's filled in nicely for teams, and knows the system but is not a major leader or staple of any team which is why he has been let previously. Hagens has 2 yrs in the league and to be honest I see him as another Hackett. His name excapes me, I've never heard of him before. He is 5ft 10inch's so my personal feeling is if we were to be stuck with someone 5-10 I'd rather have Eloi if he can actually catch. Only cause he's reported to have similar speed to Moss but younger which in my book speaks of Moss's future replacement. Possibly.

How sweet it would be to have 4 young WR's (Thomas, Kelly, Mitchell, and Eloi) with a mix of speed and hight to compliment Moss and ARE.

I remember this dude when MD. played his team in a bowl game. If I remember correctly he killed MD. But it's one thing to do it in practice. Let's see what he does in a game. Remember Tryon was having a great camp until he had to actually play in a game.

let me re-word it then...

What i mean is, Marko Mitchell I think will be what we drafted Malcolm Kelly to be. I really do think he has the potential to be the Chris Horton of the offense.

And yeah... he'll make it over Eloi easily... I think theyy are gonna stick w Randle-El & Cartwright. Even if they didn't, I think Aldridge or Dorsey would make it over Eloi.

This is what bothers me if they think the same way. Both sucked at their secondary duties. ARE was ok as a WR but when put to the task of PR failed misserably. Cartwright was consistant at starting us out on the 30 yrd line but put to the task of RB he sucks. Yet no one complains of their one dimensionality.

As far as Marko Mitchell taking part in ST duties I had not heard he would not or could not participate. However I have heard Zorn say Hackett has never been used on ST's. He was only used as a WR. Which was an admitted down side but the fact he knew the offense was a plus.

I'll admit we need ARE cause we have no bonafied WR other then Moss but can the team get one player with decent skills to do both PR and KR duties and fill in nicely as a RB or WR if needed.

I remember being impressed when I looked at the incremental increase in his college numbers over 3 years as a starter, but I figured he would just get caught up in the training camp wash. Now, I'm not so sure. I think he's got a good shot to make the team.

Marko Mitchell might be the anti-Devin Thomas. Shame on you if you get that.

Seems like Trent Shelton is a pretty much a non-factor, huh?

I'm telling you... I put it out there about a week ago on a thread....

I had been reading all camp how he catches anything near him. He may be raw, (and way to thin!!), but he is TALL, and CATCHES the ball! I think he should make the roster over Hagans & he could be another M. Kelly-type in the end.

Is he that thin? I thought he was about the same size as Marques Colston. Their combine numbers were pretty similar, although I think Colston was a little stronger and faster. He's not as thin as Randy Moss, right?

I agree. There are going to be injuries to the receiving corps this year (moss and Kelly especially). I'd love to see this guy get a shot in the regular season and emerge as a credible option. The coaches said he ran good routes in the Ravens game and everyone is saying he's got great hands. He'll put on some weight. You can't teach 6'4" 220LBS, but you can teach him everything else.
