Didn't we offer Hackett a contract earlier in the year but then he had "personal reasons" that he couldn't be here for awhile after his workout/ota's or whatever?

I think I remember this too. I just remember him turning us down.

Absolutely agree. This guy could add a lot to our receiving corps and could be a force in the redzone. Plus the combinations on 4 WR sets blows ones mind.

Exactly. Mitchell & Kelly with there size. We have 2 redzone threats and good hands receviers we could have for years to come. Compared to Hackett who has reached his upside and is not that impressive..

I think what's important now that Mitchell is in the mix (remember last year it was all about Anthony Mix, but I digress) is the real possibility that Moss will get nicked up and may not play all 16 games. With that in mind, it's really important that one of these guys (Thoms, Kelly, Mitchell) show stud potential soon and hopefully is capable of grabbing 6-8 balls in any given game.

This is more than an audition for a roster spot in my mind, we could be looking at the number one or number two guy given Santana's hamstring history.

I'm officially on board with Marko after his performance Sat. night. He could be one of those guys you end up wondering just how he slipped to the 7th round.

Ditto. Forget #5 WR, he could be a #3 or 4.

He looks like a Plax Burress or an old version of Ochocinco without the mental issues. Tall WR who will go over anyone and catch everything.

He's definitely making the team. He could make an impact for us this year.

Ok, so now Vinny is making better picks in the latter rounds with Marko this year and Horton last year. If he keeps this up I'll stop bad mouthing him. Vinny, please draft a tackle in the first or seventh round.

Seriously???...Marko is already such a proven commodity to you that you're locking him in as a great pick?

How about you see if he makes the team first and then let him crack the third string wideout spot before you anoint him a selection comparable to Horton.

2 really good reads on M Mich, Big Fase 100, LL, or MM:

"This guy's awesome," Smoot said. "He can play. I think why we love him is because he's scrappy. Two of us have already jumped on him, vets, [and] he fought us good and back, and we like that. We like that, man. Usually when a football player likes another football player, you mess with him....I think he's a guy that can step in and help us. He's a competitor, he's 6-4, he can run and he can catch, he fights for the ball. That's all you need, and play with some passion, and you can play in the NFL."

As for the scoring play, teammates said Mitchell and Malcolm Kelly have been staying after practice with a variety of quarterbacks to work on fade routes, and that paid off on the third-quarter red zone play, when Mitchell easily out-leaped his man for the ball.

Santana on LL:
"Marko was doing his thing all camp," top wideout Santana Moss said. "They [Washington's defensive backs] have a hard time with him. All the DBs, they talk about him every day.

"When you've got a guy like Marko, he's before his time," Moss said. "You can look at the way he handles himself. I mean, yeah, he's young, but he can play football."

I am officially putting him above Devin Thomas on my WR conceptual depth chart.

So i have:
