The Dallas Cowboys are Awful53Fan 08-15-2009, 11:55 AM  The whole team will have it before long. Lotus 08-15-2009, 12:07 PM the warpath has me confused. - the cowboys are horrible and are going to stay horrible this year b/c of their first preseason game in which their 1st team O scored a td while us being shut out isnt an indication that our O problems last year wont materalize again this year? - jamarcus russell is not an nfl qb and youve already written him off despite him having less years in the league, less starts and even more turmoil than JC who you think is an nfl qb? - jerry jones is an ass b/c he tries to sell tickets and charge 90 bucks for pizza but dan snyder isnt an ass for doing those expensive club level seats to cater to corporate suits instead of real skins fans, adding front rows in front of row 1, charging for training camp admission, not having a decent jumbotron, etc? - getting rid of TO wasnt a good move but getting TO in the first place wasnt a good move either? - is this a joke thread?? go skins!! My negative comments about the Cowboys did not arise so much from their stinky preseason performance but from a season-long prognostication. You are right that one preseason game is meaningless. As for TO, I think the Cowboys were smart to remove the cancer. However, they did downgrade their talent at the position. IMO a smarter move for the Cowboys would have been to get a talented but noncancerous receiver not named TO to begin with. Then they would not have to excise the tumor. As for Snyder vs Jerry, I'm not going to defend either one. Snyder replaced the raucous blue collar fan base with suits who sell tickets to Steelers fans and Jerry charges $90 - $90! - for pizzas in his new Xanadu. 53Fan 08-15-2009, 12:25 PM My negative comments about the Cowboys did not arise so much from their stinky preseason performance but from a season-long prognostication. BADA-BING!!! 53Fan 08-15-2009, 12:41 PM jerry jones won a michael jackson look-a-like contest last night. (im sorry?) Have you ever seen Jerry moonwalk? Good stuff man. Good stuff. SirClintonPortis 08-15-2009, 04:15 PM I think Tom Cable is at least changing a little bit of the culture there. Also, the Raiders should have at least a decent pass D with Asomugha there and they have a potentially very good running game that's also pretty deep. DFI 08-15-2009, 05:27 PM they might be awful, and I hope they are but they did score more points than we did in their first outing, what does that make us? super awful? TheMalcolmConnection 08-15-2009, 05:52 PM On a side note, speaking of those party passes... I would be ALL over those if Fedex had those. I'm typically standing the entire game anyway and it would bring a GREAT sense of camaraderie with other fans AND allow fans to make it to the games much cheaper. Now let me back on the subject... Yes, it's preseason, and you have to take everything with a grain of salt. That being said, while there might be vanilla offenses and vanilla defenses, if you look bad executing that's something that is extremely problematic whether it's preseason or not and is going to carry over to the season. vallin21 08-15-2009, 06:22 PM Its preaseason, so I didn't expect Dallas to take this game seriously. They wanted to get out healthy and score w/ their 1st team. They accomplished both (something we didn't do). On paper they're the least talented team in our Division, they're suspect in coverage and can't stop the run, but saying they're awful is a bit much considering we put up 0 against B-more. Valleyranchgirl 08-15-2009, 08:28 PM I agree GTripp. Dallas looked bad. The Dallas offensive line is older and more injury prone than ours. Although TO is a nightmare to deal with, when they let him go they downgraded at WR. The secondary is a mess and the DL is nothing to write home about outside of Ratliff. I think the Cowboys will win 6-8 games this year, fire Wade, and hire Shanahan. Yep that sounds about right, possible 9 wins. Not having the body-catcher on the team is a downgrade because although Roy Williams has shown flashes of him being good he is not on the same level as TO. Cory Procter must go he is terrible. DL-DE needs depth bad. By the way the skins played I guess the Ravens must be stacked with defensive talent. |
