It was a very nice catch...but doesn't make up for running a 5 yard pattern on 3rd and 6...

I think Kelly and Thomas will be big contributors to the offense this year, as will Fred Davis (fumbles aside).

Yeah, Kelly acknowledged he didn't get enough depth on the pattern but the more he plays the better he'll get. I agree. I think all 3 will contribute this year.

How in the hell can you give someone a grade right now? It's typical to hand out grades at the end of the year, not before it's even started.

FYI Davis matched Kelly's year one production in one game...fumbles or not. It is too soon to say anything about these guys.

Yes, but they haven't taken any yet. It's like getting a grade for answering a question wrong in an open discussion durring class.

I think Kelly and Thomas looked ok, the main thing, in my mind is both went and went full speed. maybe they work out, maybe not, but atleast they look to be a part of the offense this year and not bench warmers. Thats gotta be a positive, doesn't it?

It is a positive. People just love to bitch and complain about everything.

Fred Davis looked the same maybe worse than the day I saw him at training camp, he better start catching and holding onto the ball, or else he won't be anywhere on the stat sheet this fall.

Malcolm Kelly has great hands, Devin Thomas just did OK. But let's grade these guys as a whole at the end of the preseason.

Got a tweet during the game that Kelly went up for a high pass and came down with it, was it really a nice catch? What was DT's catch like?

All he did was reach up and pull down a ball like anyone who has played WR should do. None of them did anything to stand out last night but that true for the most of the team. I think this thread might have been better after a few more games.

It was a little more than that. He didn't hesitate or protect his body. He fully extended while going across the middle. He snagged the ball with 2 hands out of mid air, something Hagans failed to do i might add. He had a guy covering him, and Jason led him so that the defender couldn't get it. It was an excellent catch and really the first real glimpse of what his potential could be. In my opinion

When's the last time we started horrible and showed up great for the regular season?

I'm not chalking up a lot on our season due to last night's game, we're shaking the rust off after not playing football for half of a year, but yeah... I'll give it the preseason before I start making full judgments

Hagans didn't get the same thing done. The ball to him was high but he still should have caught it. Hagans dropped what would have been a big gainer.
