It's good to have guys that can play multiple spots
Yeah but at times we expect too much out of our players.. oh you're a lineman you need to play all line spots... linebacker, same... safety, yep.. etc

Sounds like Edwin Williams chances of making the team have just gotten deflated, since he's moving to guard, and we could have used him at backup center.

I think he has a better chance than Mike Williams.

That's pretty much the norm for the league right now. Guys need to be flexible and able to fill in depth at multiple spots. Mainly I'm talking about the bottom third of your roster type of guys.

I think this actually helps his chances. We know he can play Center, if he can play Guard that makes him more valuable

G/C is quite common. Much more so than g/t. I would bet that over 60% of the backup centers in the league play guard, at least in practice.
