I see, so you're not having sex :D Sorry couldn't resist.

:laughing2

So how about that Colt Brennan. If nothing else he's going to make the preseason interesting.

Colt Brennan threw a quick pass to Marques Hagans, who caught in stride and turned up-field for a big gain. “That was a great pass!” yelled a fan. “Controversy!” shouted another.
Interesting indeed.

I haven't commented here in a while, but I felt compelled to do so.

There is a heavy bias to the status quo here on the warpath. Whatever the mods and "veteran" posters like stays up, and whatever they don't gets taken down or locked. So when the little guy complains its falls on deaf ears. I have gotten ripped for saying less on here, and have gotten chastised for offending fewer. So, why is it when someone who isnt a mod or veteran poster feels slighted, we tell them to suck it up or worse, we call them all types of names. To add further insult to injury, you tell the man to do all types of things to avoid or ignore what he is offended about. So rather than addressing the issue, you tell him to go to the "options bar" so he can ignore the avatar. By implication that says to me, "If you don't like it ignore it or leave, cuz we are gonna do what we like."

I get it now, this site belongs to a select few and what they want goes. I understand that the way it was presented was a little "eclectic," but the fact remains that no matter how it is viewed, calling CB the "Pineapple Jesus" is offensive. Period. Whether it is offensive by a lot or a little, to have the crown of thorns trivialized like that is going to offend people. What if I believed that Jason Campbell was the last prophet, and I called him Jason Muhammed? Or what if I linked Portis to being the Dali Lama or some ish like that. Point is, once religious parallels are used, one is asking for trouble, and in my opinion, its not worth it for a player who HASN'T PLAYED A SINGLE REGULAR SEASON DOWN FOR US!

There isn't a radio or tv station that would be able to hold that up for a week before people would begin to protest. There is no way to justify the nickname. The best reason that one can come up with to justify it is that it is catchy and that this is all in good fun, but ultimately that loses its cred in the court of common sense.

So I plead with the warpath mods, if you want to be taken seriously as objective moderators with all of the censoring/editing that you do, please lock/delete this thread and create a new one that is more creative and less offensive. . It will not be hard, we are all intelligent, and I know we can come up with something better to call CB that Pineapple Jesus.

As for "me being me", first let me apologize for the harshness. I had a few beers in me last night, which led to the childishness. That's no excuse, of course. I do tend to come down on this kind of thing when I think it's warranted, but I can probably deride someone without calling names and such.

I don't want some sort of different treatment from the mods when it comes to the forum guidelines. I get what SS is saying, to maintain the site as a civil place, me calling someone an idiot doesn't help matters. So my bad, I take back the name calling. Skinznut I apologize.

However, let me say, and I think it's a fair point, that the mods didn't take any action here because on some level public derision of skinsnut was called for. Not the name-calling, but he definitely deserved to have it publicly noted that his opinion was ridiculous. He deserved to be painted as someone who failed to think.

I've been banned before. I won't go into specifics, but Matty leveled the boom on me because I was both breaking the forum guidelines and being unreasonable. And it was a fair move. In this case, I broke the forum guidelines. Now I'm not saying whether or not Matty or the mods thought I was being reasonable, but all I know is I see a big difference from this instance and the time I got banned.

So, sorry for the namecalling. I'll do better to keep that stuff out of the forums.

I would respectfully disagree with your opinion. In my experience on this site, the mods are fair, and evaluate each unique situation on an individual basis. They exercise reasonable judgment with little bias, include banning veteran posters like me at times.

In this case, they don't see fit to change something that 95% of Warpath members find funny, just to appease the other 5%. Basically, they're not letting a whiny 5% ruin the fun for the rest of us.

I for one, am glad they exercise such sound judgment, as they've done for years.

So you want the site to bow to the cries of a small minority that find "fruit god" horribly offensive?

If we ran things that way I don't think much would get accomplished around here. Where do we draw the line? If someone gets offended or put off by a discussion by your logic we should cater to that one person and say F off to the majority? Sorry, just not following your logic.

Imstarting a new group. its called
P-eople
O-ffended
B-y
O-ffended
P-eople
entry to this exclusive group is free. ppl with thin skin need not apply.
Seriously guys, im sure we all come from different backgrounds and the only thing that draws us here is our common love and support for our team. Most of us will never meet face to face and if you are going to be so easily offended by a person you dont know and will never see then you are not NET TOUGH and need to find a different way to show your support.

That's not totally true, the wrath of mob mentality seems to be bringin' it pretty nicely in its own right.

I guess I'm just crazy! Carry on with the public stoning...

Wow Dgack you almost saved the day, good try bro! Is it just me or is everyone just getting a little to sensitive these days? You make an idiotic comment....you deserve a little bashing. Man up and deal with it, thats life.

In spite of what some people may think, the mods here try to do a good and fair job. Nobody is perfect of course, but our intentions always have the better good of the site in mind at all times.

I'm sorry if a few people are offended, but the majority seem to have no problem with it and can see where it was coming from. That said, I can't justify bowing to the needs of just a few people when the majority don't have a problem with it.

Sorry Matty but i have seen threads closed because one member requested it. I dont agree with it but for anyone to demand a thread to be closed is takin a B##ch way out. IMO all of the threads should run their course until a inactive time frame passes and then close them. :twocents:
