I admit that I too am a big Sean Taylor fan and have high hopes for him - but he looked like quite the rookie during the game last night - missed tackles left and right, blown coverage severa times - not very impressive. He really needs to work on his tackling....

And Rod Gardner represent big-time! Great game - although he should have gotten out of bounds.

Laverneous needs to take the oven mits off - that was horrid.

And I thought the O-Line did a good job - Brunell held on to the ball too long. I counted 5 seconds on several of the sacks - that's way to long.

Ade Jimoh - MVP as usual!! Go Ade!

AJFC:

Talk to me about the OL on first and goal at the one yard line...

Have to agree that Ade Jimoh was not the Least Valuable Player last night. That's a step up from some games last year...

i think he missed more guys than he did tackles, but a couple of times he tried to just hit'em and didn't wrap up. why is he not going full speed when he tackles? he looks like he's trying to love tap these guys down. almost as if it were a backyard game with a bunch of 40 year olds not wanting to hurt one another... completely puzzling.

I think that Sean Taylor was injured. Not an excuse but a reason.

Coles looked like he was wound tighter than a clock spring. Weird.

Does anyone here get the idea that Coles isn't happy with the way he's being utilized? He hardly ever talks to the media anymore, and I swear he looks somewhat out of it at times.......maybe I'm just seeing things or thinking too much of it, but Coles clearly doesn't look like himself

I had a different take on Sean Taylor. The TD pass to Bryant from Anderson I believe it was #25 with the coverage, but Taylor came out of mid field and was inches away from knocking the ball out. IMO a good play. He also dove in front of a receiver to knock another ball down. I think he had a total of 3 deflections during the game.

His tackling was weak, but of the time he was around the play, how many times was he actually the one in coverage?

i didn't see the play again but sorta assumed that they called that to have the safety help (taylor) to bite on the run and then leave glenn open for the td. i didn't see the play again though so i am not sure.

I have seen the replay several times and Daseal is correct on his call on the play. The Skins were playing the safeties two deep. That was #25 Ryan Clark's side of the field. When Taylor saw that Clark was getting beaten like a rented mule, he slid over to try and help. But that is a lot of ground to cover and showed up a step late.

I think it was a mistake to bench Taylor when they did. His play and confidence has suffered because of his missed time. he was peaking during preseason. He will bounce back, but last night he was step behind the plays. His decision skills and tackling were off. I blame that on lack of play (being benched).
Although he had one great play were deflected a pass out of a WR's hands.

I still think that ST had a solid outing. I agree with Daseal that he made some nice deflections, especially that one where he dived in front of someone to stop a sure catch. He made some pretty decent hits and I do remember him not wrapping up one two occasions (there may have been more), but one of these occasions he was laying the lumber on someone while sending him out of bounds, and on the other he hit the guy hard enough where the WR was on his way down anyway before he was hit by another Skin.

I watched the game with some Cowboys fans, but whereas Roy Williams made his presence known almost immediately (Ouch Coles) Taylor didn't. He knocked down a couple of passes, but he had more than a couple of opportunities to really lay the smack down and he didn't. The one hit he made was on the fullback on the sidelines, at least that I saw.

Still, I remain a huge Taylor fan. I think it was nerves more so than anything else, it was his first start and on MNF no less. I think a better way to handle it would have been to have his first start last week, but I think he'll be fine.
