The fact is your guessing. So he lost 2 tenths of a second on his 40. The 40 is a good measure for speed but does not touch the intangables like making players miss tackles. He's had 2 yrs to simply run around a fenced in field. 2 yrs to weight lift and get stronger. If I'm not mistaken they even allow balls in jail so he probably found a way to throw a ball once and a while. Most likely all he has to work on is his accuracy. You're joking right? 2 tenths of a second is huge at the NFL level, think about the difference between a 4.4 & a 4.6 guy. And the 4.4 is speculation by his trainer, he might be at 4.5 or 4.6. Please don't tell me you think the federal pen in Leavenworth, KS is going to prepare Vick for the NFL. I've seen no mention of him throwing, just playing basketball and lifting. Oh yeah, he's also 29, people don't get faster as they age.

Vick didn't have accuracy in his prime, how's it going to develop now? That broad side of the barn he couldn't hit before, ain't gettin' any bigger.

My statements are certainly no "guess".

Uh, I am guessing too, but I don't think a jailhouse yard is going to provide the same benefits as a NFL level training regimen. Could he do the basics, yes, but coming back to his former level, and getting better in the areas he lacked, is going to be extremely difficult.

A difference between Vick and Mike Williams, is we know Williams didn't have the desire, or play up to his potential. Now whether he can or not, TC/PreSeason will tell. But Vick has to change the way he played, and show abilities he didn't seem to possess, even when he was fullout balling.

But time will tell with both.

Not saying he's 100%. Just saying I'm sure he kept himself in as good a shape as he could get in while in the big house.....you know running away from Bubba. LOL.

People keep talking about moving him to another position ie; WR a skilled position. That will take time and who knows if he will work out. If there are any teams looking at him I would guess it would be as QB or to be used as a QB in the Wild Cat situation.

No I'm not joking. The only time 2 tenths of a second will come in to play is in the long run. Very similar to racing. Both cars shoot of the line at the same time but the car that is 2 tenths of a second faster will win in the long run ...right. But it takes a long run. 2 tenths of a second is not gunna matter when it comes to dropping back and having to side step a rusher. Thats agility. Most of MV runs were him side stepping rushers and while running down field making defensive players miss tackles. He hardly ever ran full speed straight down the field.

As far as your accuracy you are correct. Which is why I'm not really into him as a player. If our coach's felt they needed his talent to make the team better then I guess they would know best.

Vick is not going to play QB when he comes back to the NFL.

What NFL team/head coach is going to stake their 3 year plan around the instability of his skillset...let alone after a stagnant 2 year prison stint?

Who's the guy that said Vick was preparing in prison like he was doing a two year training camp at Levenworth Fed???...lol...

No matter how you try to spin it his prison time is a total liability against his current athletic state.

I guess I should clarify mine. After his lay-off, with no NFL caliber training not only is his 40 going to be down, but his explosiveness (10-yd, shuttle, etc.) will be to. His greatest asset, foot-speed & explosiveness, is now at best a slightly above-average level for skill postions (WR,DB). He is not at the fastest, quickest player in the league level. Without the speed advantage he had before, he will not be successful unless he radically improves & changes the other areas of his game. At 29 and all other factors considered, while not impossible, I believe him being productive in the NFL is highly unlikely.

Id love to see Vic as a redskin, he already knows the WestCoast Offense.
For everyone saying no to Vic!!! Then who takes the reins if Campbell doesnt
show he's worthy??? Todd Collins(NOT..the offense has changed and he isnt a West Coast guy) Colt Brennan(If he was ready he'd be atleast the primary backup already)

Bring in VIC, hes a vet (at minimum hes the cheapest starting caliber backup QB out there),

Yep, you're right. If the lousy QB we have now doesn't work out, bring in the other lousy QB. Consistency, that's what this teams been missing!

I am thinking of Vick trying to do an explosive 10 yard dash at Leavenworth, but all I see is alot of guards getting edgy pretty quickly.

I'm so sure that is so true with an NFL player. While he might be a littly rusty his boby has not been taking the abuse for the past two years.

Can anyone think of a football player in his prime have two years off and not because of injury or a war and then come back?

In the 1960's yes. Now a days there is like 2 fences sometimes 3. Guards up in towers with M16's. K-9 officers walking between the fences making sure there is not escapee's. and I'm sure all the guards knew who MV was so to see him running around the yard which is almost all they can do besides sitting or playing basketball or weight lifting outside then I seriously doubt they were getting edgy. Unless he had several inmates chasing him. LOL.
