The boy was good. It's likely he's lost most of his athletic edge that kept him as one of the best NFL caliber athletes.

This is like people thinking Mike Tyson was going to punish people when he got out of prison. He was served meatball opponents until he faced real competition in Holyfield. He never had the prowess he used have after his stagnant stay in prison.

This Vick thing is only a storyline, he won't be making a difference on the field come September.

I take that as a bet. Even a Vick that has a lost a little will still be fast. Will have to acclimate back to the game. Somebody will put him on the field. A genius like Belicheat. He can go to a team he does not have to carry like he did with the Falcons. I like players like him because you can't scheme him. football becomes unpredictable and not boring.

^This is the same thought process with Mike Williams. He hasn't ridden a bike in 2 yrs so he's likely to have lost most of his ability to.

Most players have played since little league. I doubt they have lost their ability but his age and stanima is the question. I say his age cause his body may not be able to hold up and his stanima meaning endurance. Can he play a whole game. I would not doubt these players in a few short weeks would be using their technique that got them to the pros in the first place.

Brady o-line gets old he is a sitting duck, lost Super Bowl.
Manning - First round picks all around him from the RB's to the WR's, no Super Bowl until Sexy Rex gave him one.

Football is athletics leave the geniuses to figure out how to get us to the Moon.

I don't think anyone is going to pick him up. I just don't see it. This time of year rosters are set. Outside of Oakland I don't see anyone who wants to put up with the drama. He's going to have to go to the new league and try and knock off the rust, then try something next year.

What drama? PETA is too worried bout Obama killing a fly to protest his new team.

Look at the Redskins. Zorn gets out schemed in Detroit, too busy trying to show Portis who's the boss. Santana Moss runs back a punt with his athleticism, saves his hide.

BUT let's face it, we signed AH for $100 million dollars who ran someone over (and almost paralyzed him) and stomped on someone's *face*. We signed Jeremy Bridges who was arrested for assault and battery last year. Plax shot himself (<grin>), Matt Jones did cocaine, and others have done a lot of other crimes (I think there were 58 nfl player arrests in 2008)..

Sure what Vick did was bad, but why is everyone else let go with a slap on the wrist?Stallworth - Indefinite Suspension
Haynesworth - 5 games for "stomp", 2006 Reckless driving charges were dropped. 2008 Reckless driving charges were misdemeanor.
Matt Jones - 3 game suspension
Leonard Little - 8 game suspension
Jeremy Bridges - 2 game suspenison by Panthers for misdemeanor assault. No suspension for "simple assualt & battery" which was basically a bar scuffle with a bouncer.
Plax - who knows, he'll likely be in jail for 2+ yrs minimum.
Tank Johnson - 8 games
Pacman - 2007 season

Hardly "slaps on the wrist".

While Vick has been suspended during the case and subsequent jail time, the only real punishment from the NFL would be 4 games. As Matty said, this is a huge benfit for Vick. Be thankful I'm not commish, you wouldn't see Vick in the NFL again (you wouldn't have seen Little after his second DUI incident either).

Football is athletics leave the geniuses to figure out how to get us to the Moon. The QB position is a lot more than just "athletics". And don't forget Vick was running a 4.25, possibly a 4.2, 40-time in his prime. His great speed was his only asset. Now his trainer states "he can naturally run a 4.4", but to my knowledge he hasn't run a timed 40 anywhere recently. Bottom line, Vick's last three years at the QB position he stunk. If you want to move him to WR or "slash" type, a 4.4 at a skill position in the NFL is good but not great, a lot of guys run 4.4s in the NFL. And who knows if Vick has any hands for the WR position, as I remember he fumbled more than average as a QB.

Vick is damaged goods and it's very doubful he'll have any real success upon his return.

Pure speculation. Dude won more playoff games than Manning or Romo.
