It sounds like Ben's been riding the hog again without his helmet.

Roethlisberger accused of Sexual AssaultDirtbag59 07-21-2009, 07:03 PM It sounds like Ben's been riding the hog again without his helmet. http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/images/darkhelmet.jpg TheSmurfs22 07-21-2009, 07:04 PM In my opinion, it's pretty reckless to automatically conclude this woman is a lying, greedy [expletive]. Is there a chance she is lyign and just trying to get money and/or revenge? Yes. Is there a chance she is telling the truth? Yes. I've known at least one woman who was sexually assaulted who went back and forth about contacting police. It was a very emotional experience for her and I understand why she didn't immediately go to police. Again, I'm not saying she is telling the truth, I am just saying we shouldn't pass judgment based on an article or two we read in the press. ~~~~~~~~~ I agree with you 100%. I have had a friend who was assaulted as well and it is not always an easy thing to admit. However there are some women out there who also do cry wolf in hopes to make a few bucks. It is a travesty that the actions of a few ruin it, or make it harder for those who are truly going through something like this. I really hope this did not happen, I like Ben and think he is an upstanding guy. Time will tell and the truth will be revealed. TheSmurfs22 07-21-2009, 07:07 PM Well people lie all the time to get money out of wealthy people. It goes both ways. Could he have done it? Anything is possible. But some things are less possible. If a good looking guy that's very wealthy/famous and has hot girlfriends needs to rape an average looking girl that's a head case then that's something he has to live with. It comes down to her word against his. ~~~~~~ Rape is not about looks or wealth it is about power and control. Some people who become famous truly believe they are above the law. skinsfan69 07-21-2009, 08:54 PM ~~~~~~ Rape is not about looks or wealth it is about power and control. Some people who become famous truly believe they are above the law. You're talking about a guy that can probably get any women he wants. Why would someone like HIM rape someone like her? It makes no sense. He has too much to lose. Yeah sure it's possible, but like I said some things are LESS possible. Plus there is no criminal case, apparently no evidence and it's a year later. Sorry but I'm not giving this women the benefit of the doubt. Not yet. skinsfan69 07-21-2009, 08:56 PM Wow, that was F'ing stupid. No...it's probably the truth. jsarno 07-21-2009, 09:13 PM You're talking about a guy that can probably get any women he wants. Why would someone like HIM rape someone like her? It makes no sense. Sorry but I'm not giving this women the benefit of the doubt. Not yet. There are rules to rape? I wasn't aware of this. All you guys that are instantly discrediting this woman for no reason other than it's a year later and it's not a criminal suit should understand that rape is rape. How she goes about finding justice, is her choice. For the record, I am not saying he's guilty, nor am I saying she is guilty of making something up. Let the evidence speak for itself and shame on a lot of you for even discarding this allegation even though you know NOTHING about EITHER of them. The evidence will hopefully come out, and who knows, maybe Ben has done this before, and others will then come forward. It could just be an overzealous ex-employee or fling...no one knows yet. SirClintonPortis 07-21-2009, 09:43 PM Maybe Ben found her attractive. While her face is not something I would say is pretty, some others may think otherwise or simply not care. I care more about the tapes in the hotel room and their current state of existence in Florio's summary of her complaint. If they are indeed found and the incident did take place, then sorry Big Ben... If not, then she's the one full of baloney. 53Fan 07-21-2009, 09:55 PM I don't think anyone is discarding the allegation. It's true that these things are sometimes brought up at a later date, for various reasons. It's also true that false allegations are made all the time. I don't neccessarily believe her given the limited information I have, but that's just my opinion. If Ben's guilty, I wish her the best in her pursuit of any kind of justice she can get. TheSmurfs22 07-21-2009, 10:23 PM There are rules to rape? ~~~~~~ Apparently only good looking women are raped by athletes/entertainers. Again, I go back to one of my posts, rape is about control and power more than anything else. ~~~ I wasn't aware of this. All you guys that are instantly discrediting this woman for no reason other than it's a year later and it's not a criminal suit should understand that rape is rape. All we can do right now is sit back and see what happens. hooskins 07-21-2009, 10:29 PM I know it isn't sexual harassment but... http://www.psychologytoday.com/files/u15/Sexual%20harassment%20panda.gif |
