The big secret they waited to tell at the end of the show was the fact that Dan Snyder tried to but WJFK right before the start of their new Fan programming and the Lavar lineup...apparently he wanted control over the local redskins fan media...anyway, interesting stuff.
I don't think that's entirely accurate. Snyder had been looking for a while to buy a higher powered station and CBS Radio had been looking for a while at selling 106.7 as an option before they decided to switch to sports radio. Who knows, they still might sell the station along with others (less likely now though). Any talks of a purchase weren't a last minute thing

I'm not sure why Snyder is so obsessed with buying up all the sports radio stations. They still poke fun at the front office on 980 ALL THE TIME.
I don't think I can listen to Lavar and Dukes anymore. Lavar is still bitter about his ending here. STFU already and get over it. I had to turn it off when he started crying about how he gave back 2 million just to get outta here.
I listened to Lavar and Chad talk about this yesterday and their main gripe was that Snyder was atempting to control what was said about the Skins. I had to laugh because the first thing that I thought about was the Sports Reporters and how they rip the Redskins without mercy. I wanted to call but had only 2 bars; maybe he wants to buy 106.7 because he can then put the Skins games back on 106.7 which gives the Skins another station for their games to be on. Giving them a stronger signal than 980 or 92.7.

I don't know how the signal is to the south, but I live in Baltimore and can get 980 but not 106.7

I've actually heard a lot of people in Montgomery County are saying they can't get 106.7 in their car...which just seems strange

ESPN 980's transmitter is in Hyattsville, whereas 106.7's transmitter is in Merrifield, VA (Beltway and Route 50). Even so, the AM wavelength is longer than FM, so while it tends to be weaker, AM's signal is further reaching.

Yeah, it has to do with the different signals broadcasting around the area at that end of the frequency. Between 106.5 (Baltimore), 106.9 (Hagerstown/Frederick) and 107.3 (DC), there are many strong FM signals that can wreak havoc. Once you get north of 370/124 in Gaithersburg, 106.7 is a crapshoot...

Wish they would move over to one of CBS's other stronger signals like 99.1...
also, I wonder if Lavar will start doing the show from his resturant
