Not really a delicacy, but kind of a local flavor that you can't find anywhere.

Roy's place in Gaithersburg. Over 200 different kinds of sandwiches. Sadly, Roy passed away a few months ago, but the place still carries on the tradition.

Check out the menu...

One of the sandwiches is
A Good Cold Sandwich
"Two stale heels of bread enclosing a freshly-made ice cube"
My wife and I always spent at least an hour in there...not because the service was bad, but because it would take 20 minutes or more to narrow down and finally choose what to have. I've tried 7 or 8 of their sandwiches, everything was awesome. Their salads (shrimp, crab, lobster) were amazing.

One of my faves: THE DOUG LLEWELYNTM (Llanguidly Llounges Llizard-like on Lladies’ Llaps.) - Baked ham, shrimp salad, chicken bosom, lettuce, tomato & mayo

Hey SS, not sure if you're near New Haven but have you ever been to this joint?

Louis' Lunch Home Page (http://www.louislunch.com/)

I used to live much closer to New Haven than I do now and that's actually one place I've always wanted to go to, but I've never been.

That probably only like 5 points for Weight Watchers, LOL!

I use to work with this old lady who had her own numbers for WW she seriously thought a big mac fries and a coke was like 10 points. I use to laugh to myself every day when I over heard her counting her points.

Roy died? That's awful. Roy's place is an institution in Gaithersburg.

Yeah. Here's the obit.

Last night we went out to one of or local Restaurants which was awarded one of the top 50 Restaurants in the US. Last night I had the Bison Rib Eye which was great while my wife had the soft shell crabs. For you guys in Va. Beach if you are ever looking for a place to take the lady in your life this is a little bit of a drive but its worth the drive.

They also have another place down the street called River Stone Chophouse which is also a great place but is very expensive.

Awesome article. It did remind that I haven't had any crabs yet this season. Gonna have to make a trip here soon...my family goes to a place in Lewes, DE (Lazy Susan's) that has awesome crabs. No AYCE anymore, but if you order multiple dozen, you'll always get more crabs than you order. Here in Frederick, we go to May's Restaurant (http://www.maysrestaurant.com). Good crabs and AYCE specials that include crabs, shrimp, clams, crab legs, mussels, oysters...
