12thMan 07-06-2009, 10:34 AM I agree but it's also important to note that it's not entirely unwarranted. You can't pull these kids out for every possible photo op, use them as proof of your conservative credentials and then bitch when people start sniffing around. Same goes for all of these family values pols who are caught banging the miscellaneous staffer/mistress/sheep and ask for "privacy at this difficult time."
I think the thing that makes Palin likable, her gritty nature, is also the very thing that has her hurt politically. I just flat out think the women has a difficult time taking outside advice. These campaigns are run and staged, to a great extent, to be very scripted events. Any advisor worth his weight in salt should have told Palin not to bring her kids in the spotlight at every given chance. You want them in the spotlight, wait 'til you get to the White House.
The politics of campaigning and the politics of governing are two different things, and I think Palin is learning this the hard way.

Well said - I think you're probably right in your assessment of her. At the same time, while I am no Palin fan, I thought the media seemed to take considerable joy in attacking her family life.
firstdown 07-06-2009, 01:38 PM I couldn't imagine anyone more dumb than W in the oval office. But Palin would top that, easily. I'd like to think the country isn't that stupid to elect this moron, but then again they did vote W in twice. Well, once at least.
Seriously though, she's too polarizing. I don't think she's what the right wants to hang their hat on for 2012.
Well the moron in office is doing just fine screwing things up even worse but now they are trillion dollar screw ups.

Now we're back on track here...reasonable comments be damned!!!

On second thought (this is a repost), is there at least one thing - just one- you actually think President Obama is doing well?
skindeep 07-06-2009, 01:54 PM What's her reason president aspirations, if so would she step down if she found a job paying more with more perks. Come on u have to finish your term if not elected in to a hire office.Whats SHE GOING TO DO KNOCK ON DOORS 3 AND HALF YEARS.
BleedBurgundy 07-06-2009, 02:24 PM She'll have a fox news show at the end of the week if she wants it. Too many nascar fans out there love her.
SmootSmack 07-06-2009, 02:33 PM This is a stretch, but could she conceivably being trying to relocate to a "bigger" state (at least on the political map) than Alaska for a senatorial/gubernatorial run in 2010 to better position herself for a presidential run in 2012?

I really think she should take her time and think this one through. She only has two more big annoucements left. What she's going to do next and when she announces her for 2012. If she jumps on the talk show circuit too fast and deep, it could cut both ways. One, it will reveal how much she really knows or doesn't know about the issues and could potentially expose her in areas she doesn't want. And if she flops, then that will definitely be the end of Sarah Palin.
If I were her, I would take something with the title of "energy analyst and former Governor." Stick with an area that you are 100% comfortable with. That and be the Republican attack dog railing against Obama's policies.

I don't see it SS. Listening to her speech she said, "we know we can effect positive change outside government." She's running as the ultimate Washington outsider, so running for senator conflicts with that message. And running for governor of another state won't cut it either. She quits being governor of one state only to run in another? No one in their right mind would vote for her and the ads would be out of control.
She has two more big annoucements to make in the future, and one is that she's running for POTUS in 2012.
