SmootSmack 07-06-2009, 07:24 AM Well the logic smootsmack is that I don't like dumbass Campbell, he is a deer in the headlights with reading coverages, and gets sacked too much by holding onto the ball too long, believe me I know what I'm talking about, cause vinny and dan saw the same thing I saw and that's why they wanted cutler and sanchez (I didn't want either cause I wanted to give colt a shot, but if I had to choose one it would be cutler) unless Campbell has a great second year in the offense, which I doubt but would be more than happy to be proven wrong by him winning us games, he'll be out of a job in DC very quickly
Why couldn't you just say something like "I hope Colt has a strong preseason and gets the opportunity to show his skills at some point in the regular season" without talking about wanting to see Campbell get hurt?

You're trying to convince us you know what you're talking about because Dan Snyder and Vinny Cerrato saw the same thing you did? Seriously? Please remember Dan Snyder is the guy who handed Steve Spurrier the reigns and he brought in Danny Wuerffel to be the QB. That "logic" is laughable.
Plus wishing injury on ANYONE is just plain ignorant. Add to that you're saying you would rather give Colt a shot over trading for Cutler? Campbell has improved every year despite a rotating door for Offensive Coordinators and an injury prone and aging offensive line. Clearly you just dislike Campbell since you're calling for a season ending injury. If Colt is so much better, he should be able to beat Campbell out in the preseason. Remember Colt is the third option...he still has to beat out Todd Collins!! LOL.
Bottom line: Campbell is our QB and he's gonna prove all the doubters wrong in 2009.
HAIL!!
Lotus 07-06-2009, 09:00 AM Well, thats enough for me. With all that evidence how could someone not believe you?
As for Daniels on the practice squad, I think that is highly unlikely. A Qb on the PS is a waste of a roster spot IMO. With so few spots available you need them all for position players, not players that are untouchable in practice. One of the biggest reasons for the practice squad players is to take some reps off of the regular players to keep them fresh while still being able to run an efficient practice. There really is no place for a 4th QB on a team, hell some teams only carry 2. While the redskins are not in a position to carry just 2 of them, they cant afford the luxury of carrying 4.
Spot on. Few teams carry qb's on the practice squad for this reason. There just is no space for a 4th qb to get any reps.

True, most of the time snyder doesn't make good decisions, but I think that he was on to something with getting cutler, cause cutler isn't a wimp throwing the ball like Campbell. He may throw more picks than Campbell, but he also throws twice as many TDs as Campbell, thus scoring more points, therefore a much better chance of winning the game with a highly touted defense like ours, this is why I like colt, cause he also showed that he isn't afraid to throw the ball, like cutler....Campbell on the other hand is like " let's dump it off to the short route receiver or maybe I'll throw it deep to santana, but only if he's got his man beat by atleast four steps...". This won't change, he's a conservative quarterback, and to win in the NFL today you need to be able to just go out there and sling it...I think zorn wants to name colt the second QB during training camp, cause you can't name someone that with no cause...then I think he doesn't really need to tell Jason anymore that he's on the hot seat, but he'll definitley let him know that he isn't afraid to to give one of the backups the starting job..plus Campbell and zorn aren't idiots, they know that colts a fan favorite, and they read the message boards every once in a while and pobably this site too
As for me wishing an injury on Campbell, sure that's a bad thing to wish on someone (even tho I wish one on tom Brady every year) but A) I only wish campbell would get a hard hit or something that causes him to sit out for a quarter or so, not a season ending injury or a broken arm, foot, leg, or hand...I think an injury that's small is all it would tAke to put colt in with the first teamers, and see what he could really do, cause I don't think zorn well put him in after everything JCs been thru this offseason and telling him that he's our starting QB, plus I'll give one last chance to wow me or show me that he's improved in his second year in the offense, but as soon as he shows me nothing has changed, bring on the cult of colt!
DBUCHANON101 07-06-2009, 11:41 AM Dan brought in Spurrier who brought in Weurffel who knew his system ala Todd Collins.. how is that laughable?? The ONLY reason Collins is on the team is because he basically spent his whole career in Saunders system and knew it inside and out.
Ppl tend to forget that teams were trying to get Spurrier in the league for years before he came to the Skins.

If he can't beat out Collins for the #2 than maybe, just maybe, he's not as good as Collins. The guy has a puss arm, quirky side-arm release, and isn't exactly a rocket scientist. Maybe you should've paid attention to Jaworski's assessment of him when he was drafted. I'll take Jaws opinion over yours, Danny's and VC's when it comes to QBs. What about Zorn, his job is on the line everyday, don't you think he's going to put the best players on the field? Your logic on this is questionable at best....actually it's more along the lines of what Ruhskins described.
SOUL-SKINS 07-06-2009, 12:03 PM Oh my god!!!!! I'm so sick of this jc / colt bullshit.
We are constantly talking about essentially the same thing since week 10
of last season. Please god please stop this. I no theres nothing to talk about right now but there is no need to dwell on this shit.
Jc is starting. Lets see how he does. If he does well, great. If not bring in colt. If colt sucks. Draft a qb next year. There i saved everyones time. A simple thanks should suffice and your welcome.

Well im sure Jaws and Kiper are NEVER wrong in their player evaluations. And when Colt was drafted he was like 190lbs, now he is around 210. On Redskins.com it said he spends time after practice throwing 50 yd passes. ppl forget in the WCO you dont need a cannon. its more on timing in the short to intermediate range.
JC has a cannon arm. we dont see it often though. NFL Network showed many situations on 3rd and long where he had wrs downfield past the marker in one on one coverage and yet he checked down to the wr that was 3-5 yards short of the first. So either the man cant read defenses, doesnt trust his arm or plays scared to take chances.

1) Cuttler had the most picks in the NFL last year.
2) I think you may be the biggest Campbell hater I have ever seen (which is fine) but he is still our QB, and is going to be our QB so you might as well get get used to it.
3) You say Colt is such a fan favorite - remember back 2 years ago when everyone was chanting for Campbell? I'm sure you were one of those people. Point is - when a team isn't winning, the QB is the first to go to the chopping block. Take a look at our beat down OL and ask yourself is that the reason Jason can't get the ball off.
4) I saw Colt at the Greene Turtle in DC. There were a lot of people in there. NO ONE knew who he was or was trying to take pictures, autographs, etc. Infact, when I approached him to ask for a picture a man sitting near him asked his buddy "who is that?" Big fan favorite I guess...
DBUCHANON101 07-06-2009, 12:29 PM WOW, i guess everyone watches football and knows all of the players by face. I love the Skins but i wont sit here and say i can name each player if i saw them in public.
Colt took CP to Hawaii with him and ppl came up to him and asked who is the little guy?
Im sure many players take trips across the country in the offseason and are not hoarded by ravid fans and autograph hounds.
