Redskins Best Ever Series: DEFENSIVE ENDsnoopy 06-23-2009, 12:01 AM renaldo wynn lol GMScud 06-23-2009, 12:05 AM Defensive Ned? Sounds like a good name for a comic strip. I picture some dorky or unfortunate looking fellow (perhaps the 80's guy holding the disc in 70Chip's favorite picture) all defensive about his appearance. LOL GTripp0012 06-23-2009, 01:06 AM I'll be voting for Charles Mann. hail_2_da_skins 06-23-2009, 10:53 AM Who is Gene Brito? Oh, he played in 51-53 and 55-58. I wasn't even born. Did they have television, because I haven't seen a highlight or mention of him before. I think it is a no-brainer, Charles Mann, maybe Dexter Manley. Dirtbag59 06-23-2009, 12:34 PM renaldo wynn lol Please. Kenard Lang wipes the floor with Renaldo Wynn. Remember that season where Kenard had 30 sacks. freddyg12 06-23-2009, 12:35 PM Mann was (is) the man. Dexter was my favorite player for years. Despite some inconsistency & not that stout vs. run, he gave the d a spark & touch of flamboyance to an otherwise quiet group. kdogg3270 06-23-2009, 02:19 PM Love Charles Mann but I'm going with Dexter Manley. He hated Dallas and put their QB's where they belong. On their ass. Of course I wouldn't mind Mann either, great player and one of the classiest guys to ever play. YouTube - Ernst & Young "Today's Legend of the Game" Dexter Manley (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hi-czgd-ZgI) i agree with this..does anybody remember that game in 89 where he sacked Phil simms 4 times in one quarter? We lost that game, but he was a beast. Lotus 06-23-2009, 03:24 PM I'm going with Gene Brito. That guy was a menace, one of the best DE's to play for any team during the 50's. I also give props to Mann - good player, good human being. BringBackJoeT 06-23-2009, 05:53 PM I'm still seeing the LB poll, but when I can vote it will be for Mann. He was a complete player. Manley got the headlines and was flashier, but give me Mann any day. Wasn't just headlines and flash. Dexter's 90+ sacks still rank the most among any man who wore the burgundy and gold. SmootSmack 06-23-2009, 05:58 PM No love for Ron McDole. 12 interceptions! What linemen would get that now? Or what about our very own Tony McGee :) Anyhow, Mann was no slouch as a pass rusher either, 80+ sacks in his career |
