So I'm at the Jet Blue gate in Ft. Lauderdale about to fly to DC for an interview and who comes around the corner but Joey T. I sat back for a couple minutes because I was on a conference call and I try to respect athlete's space in public.

Once I got off the phone someone had already started chatting him up so I just introduced myself, shook his hand and told him I was a fan. I had a football magazine in my bag that he signed. I know, cheesy to ask for an autograph but it was spur of the moment and if I didn't have a football magazine I wouldn't have asked.

He said that Dan is gonna be pissed that all of the mags are picking the team 4th but he thinks we're going to be right there with Philly and NYG, our defense will be top 3, our secondary will have a great year and JC is going to have a Pro Bowl season. I told him it was nice to meet him and his lady friend. I ended up sitting right across from him on the flight but I left him alone for the duration.

Pretty cool way to spice up an otherwise regular day.

That is pretty cool, i briefly ran into Cooley as he left the stadium the last Eagles game. He went past me so fast almost didnt recognize him. It's funny how some people we are little awestruck. While some will badger the celebrity others will try to keep their distance. I always liked listening to Theismann on TV.

Me and my bro used to run into the occasional Diamondback or Coyote player while doing jobs in Scottsdale, and it would crack me up because my brother would sit there and try to think of something to say them without looking like a pestering fan. Standing there for couple minutes then saying "So ummm you like coffee?" can make you look stupid haha.

VERY cool! JT was my first favorite QB. The first live football game I watched was in 83 with JT, hogs and co. I remember watching LT fold Joe's knee back on tv live and I started crying, (I was 8).
I can still remember asking my Dad at the time it happened, "Dad, Joes' going to be alright, right?"
"No son, he will never play again", he told me....
Ahh memories. Anyway, I still love JT, and have a framed autographed jersey of his hanging on my wall. My favorite thing about preseason is JT covering Skins games. Very cool Paintrain, Hail!

Awesome story! Oh and if this was a job interview (what you were coming to DC for) I hope it all went well.
