Haven't been following this thing at all. But Arch the bust, sounds like the poster child for this new league, for now.

Thoughts on this new UFL? http://www.ufl-football.com/

More Details On The UFL Draft (http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/06/18/more-details-on-the-ufl-draft/)

If you are the type of person that would be interested in the UFL Draft, you probably have some questions about the format. (And have a noble football addiction.)
Details were scarce before this post on PFT (http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/06/18/ufl-draft-tonight/) got the ball rolling, but ESPN’s Chris Mortensen has answers (http://twitter.com/mortreport).
The draft will be 24 rounds, held electronically from team locations. There is only three minutes allowed per pick, so it’s going roughly as fast as your local fantasy league. More than half of the draft is already complete.
The league has “protected” most notable quarterbacks, and 20 players-per-team were already assigned. Players drafted Thursday participated in an open tryout for the league.
Mortensen reports the quarterback assignments will be announced on July 1. That’s why we won’t hear anything about J.P. Losman or a certain former Atlanta Falconshttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/mag-glass_10x10.gif (http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/#) quarterback tonight.
The biggest name drafted thus far is former PFT sponsor (http://archive.profootballtalk.com/11-1-06through11-15-06.htm) Adam Archuleta (http://www.totalvid.com/Football-Videos/freak-of-training/). The NFL’s (http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/#) highest paid safety as recently as 2006, Archuleta will now play for the Las Vegas franchise.
Some other notable drafted names passed along by Mort and Rachel Gary of the UFL (http://twitter.com/RGaryUFl) include safety Mike Doss. The former second-round pick in the NFL Draft was once a Colts starter before an arrest and ACL injury derailed his career.
Former Jaguar running back LaBrandon Toefield will be LaRunning for Orlando.
Gary Stills (http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/#), a former Pro Bowl special teamer in Baltimore, went to Las Vegas.
There apparently haven’t been many international players taken, but the New York franchise selected a wideout from Japan and an offensive lineman from Germany.
The UFL will post the full results by the end of the night on their website (http://www.ufl-football.com/).

I thought I heard JP Losman was joining the Las Vegas team as well, under coach Fassell. GTripp's favorite backup Tim Rattay is also joining the league

So, does this thing have a chance in hell of success? I just keep hearing XFL in my mind whenever it's mentioned on TV.

I can't imagine this thing going anywhere. We'll see I guess. I might check it out.

It'd be nice if this went somewhere. I'd definitely watch it, esp now when there's nothing relevant going on in sports (well at least for me).

Same here Ruhskins. Baseball doesn't quite cut it.

Yeah, me too. I've been entertaining myself with LSU baseball, (really big in New Orleans), but I have little tie to LSU other than my friends here. Thank goodness only 1 month to training camp.

Losman's team is going 0-6.
