For the DMB fans here what do you guys think of the new album? I think it's easily their best album since Before These Crowded Streets. I've been listening to it non-stop since I got it.

I've seen DMB in concert 6 times, and their live performances are great. Schneed10 06-03-2009, 11:18 PM For the DMB fans here what do you guys think of the new album? I thought Busted Stuff was the best DMB since Crash. But if you're saying this is that good, I think I'll download it now! But if you're saying this is that good, I think I'll download it now! Yeah, for me Before These Crowded Streets and Busted Stuff are a toss up. I absolutely love Crush and Pig, but Grace is Gone and Captain are so good too. For my money, I'll take Live at Luther College with Dave and Tim Reynolds any day. It's not a studio recorded album, but man it's great. Crash is definitely the best studio recorded album. So many of my favorite songs. #41 (my all time favorite DMB song), Two Step, and Proudest Monkey are so great. One of my favorite songs ever. Just DL'd GrooGrux, the 2nd track is really grabbing me from the get-go. GMScud 06-03-2009, 11:35 PM I had the DJ play Two Step during the dinner hour at my wedding. One of my favorite songs ever. Just DL'd GrooGrux, the 2nd track is really grabbing me from the get-go. Oh yeah, Two Step is phenomenal. Ever hear the Live at Luther College version? I think it's the last track on disc 2. Fantastic. MTK 06-04-2009, 07:53 AM Wow, Before These Crowded Streets better than Busted Stuff? I thought Busted Stuff was the best DMB since Crash. But if you're saying this is that good, I think I'll download it now! Of course it's just opinion, but for me Busted Stuff had a been there, done that feel to it because of the Lillywhite Sessions (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lillywhite_Sessions). Maybe if I had never heard those early demos I would feel different about Busted Stuff. I still Busted Stuff, solid album, but again it just didn't feel new or fresh. MTK 06-04-2009, 07:55 AM Love it. Did anyone catch the live show on Fuse on Monday night? It was SICK. I've seen DMB in concert 6 times, and their live performances are great. I caught some of the show on the net. Fuse is replaying it this weekend. The Fuse documentary that has been running the past 2 nights has been very good too. I'm seeing them next week, it will be my 26th show. hooskins 06-04-2009, 08:03 AM 26th show? Wow. Album is pretty good so far, haven't gotten through all of it. Dave(as they love to refer to in Charlottesville) is pretty good but people at UVA take it to a new level. I feel people like them just because of their "roots" in Charlottesville rather than music. Typical conversation... -"Hey dude you know dave played here man" -"No way man, totally awesome, best band ever...*sips his Natty Light while popping his collar*" I guess Dave is a pretty big "bro" band, but it's worst because they played in Charlottesville before they blew up. MTK 06-04-2009, 08:09 AM 26 shows might sound a little crazy but that's spread out over the course of the last 12 years or so. That includes a couple of Dave and Tim shows too. |
