Meh. I can see a need for it to protect others who don't have his experience. It seems that he lives outside of the "public" arena in the sense that he's not inviting big bears into a town or city where other people have been put in danger. So, I really don't see a purpose of these laws on this man particularly. If he dies by one of them, it seems to me that he's accepted that fate. Let him.
The only other reasoning I can see behind this is just one more way to control us. Shhh, big brother is listening.

I know in Virginia it's illegal to feed bears. I know in my home town there was a guy that fed bears regularly and had people come over to watch. The bears destroyed big chunks of his home. No sympathy here, if you feed bears you have to kinda expect it. When it comes to bears, me and Colbert are on the same level.
