Looking at the Redskins, Cowboys, Giants, and Eagles projected lineups as of today how would you rank these teams 1-4 position by position?
Heres my rankings....
QB - 1. Eagles 2. Cowboys 3. Giants 4. Redskins
I still think McNabb is the best QB in the NFC East. Romo is too up and down to be rated ahead of McNabb but he is better than both Manning and Campbell. I gave Eli a slight edge over Campbell just because of his playoff experience and SB ring. I do think Campbell can move up on this list if he can play well in a contract year.
RB - 1. Cowboys 2. Redskins 3. Eagles 4. Giants
Its really hard to rank the NFC East RBs. All four teams have talent and you could very easily put the Giants at #1. I put the Boys at the top because of their three headed monster of Barber, Jones, and Choice. I think the Cowboys will get back to the running game this year and it will be huge for them. I put the Skins at #2 because of Portis. When hes healthy and the offensive line shows a pulse hes probably one of the top 3 backs in the game. The combo of Westbrook and McCoy got the edge over Jacobs/Bradshaw/Andre Brown. I do think Andre Brown in a couple years will be a pretty good RB though.
WR/TE - 1. Eagles 2. Cowboys 3. Redskins 4. Giants
The Eagles get the top spot here because I think their trio of WRs Jackson/Curits/Maclin will be very explosive this year. I also like Celek as a TE who can make some plays. I think hes better than most people think. I put the Cowboys at 2 over the Redskins because I think their WR core is a little better. They both have a nice pair of TEs Witten/Bennett and Cooley/Davis and solid #1s Moss and Roy Dub. I just believe the progression of Thomas and Kelly right now cant match the play of players like Patrick Crayton and Miles Austin. I have the Giants at 4 but in a couple years they will be #1. Young talent alone in the draft in Nicks, Barden, and Beckum should be huge for the Giants down the road. The problem with the Giants is their lack of a #1 WR.
OL - 1. Eagles 2. Cowboys 3. Giants 4. Redskins
I love the additions the Eagles made to their offensive line this offseason adding Stacy Andrews and Jason Peters. The Cowboys have a very solid offensive line as do the Giants. I put the Skins at 4th just because of injuries that have occured yearly and the hole at RT.
DL - 1. Giants 2. Redskins 3. Cowboys 4. Eagles
I give the edge to the Giants with all the talent on their line. Osi, Tuck, Canty, Kiwanuka, Robbins, Cofield, Bernard, and Alford. You could build two defensive lines and be effective with that talent. The Redskins finally upgraded their defensive line with the additions of Haynesworth and Orakpo. The Cowboys are also very solid with Ratliff in the middle and Spears/Igor at the two end spots. The Eagles are at 4 but they still have alot of talent and the #4 ranking doesnt do them justice.
LB - 1. Cowboys 2. Giants 3. Redskins 4. Eagles
The Cowboys with Ware and Co. get the top spot. The Giants made some nice additions with Boley and Sintim. The Redskins have a hole at SLB but Fletcher is one of the top MLB in the game. The Eagles have solid LBs that do their job but I rate them 4th among LBs in the NFC East.
DB - 1. Redskins 2. Eagles 3. Cowboys 4. Giants
The Redskins have a very good defensive backfield with Rogers, Hall, Smoot, Landry, and Horton. The Eagles have a nice trio of CBs in Samuel, Brown and Hobbs. They lost Dawkins but still have solid Ss in Mikell and Demps. The Cowboys improved alot with the additions of draft picks DeAngelo Smith and Mike Mickens (who was a steal) at CB and Sensabaugh at S. Add that to Newman, Jenkins, Scandrick, and Hamlin and the Cowboys have nice talent and depth in the defensive backfield. The Giants have a nice pair of CBs in Ross and Webster and a nice young S in Kenny Phillips but they are 4th on my list.
SpT - 1. Cowboys 2. Giants 3. Eagles 4. Redskins
The Cowboys easily have the best SpT with players like Folk and McBriar. The Giants are solid with players like Tynes and Feagles. The Eagles could have found a nice kicker who could unseat Akers in Sam Swank. The Redskins are last with big question marks at kicker and returner.
HC - 1. Eagles 2. Giants 3. Redskins 4. Cowboys
The Eagles and Giants both have very good coaches in Reid and Coughlin who get the most out of their players. The Skins and Boys both have coaches who are on the hot seat imo in Zorn and Phillips.
OVERALL - 1. Eagles 2. Cowboys 3. Redskins 4. Giants
The Eagles up and down the board have enough talent to get to yet another NFC Championship Game. The Cowboys and Redskins both are teams who could make the playoffs. I think it will come down to QB play and coaching for them. The Giants have enough talent but I just see a couple question marks that might slow them down this year.
