I didnt blame the FO for the Cutler deal. But i get the sense that since it fell thru that the next time a QB comes available that he will bid a little higher.
Will Jason Campbell return?DBUCHANON101 06-07-2009, 08:28 AM I didnt blame the FO for the Cutler deal. I've said before, if Snyder was as dead set on getting Cutler or Sanchez he would have made it happen. If he raised the ante to two firsts and a second then Denver would have pounced, no question. He had a price and didn't exceed it. Same thing with Sanchez, if he wanted him, he would have traded our 2010 first round pick along with this year's pick. Personally I think the Sanchez interest was way overblown in the media and among the fans. If Campbell doesn't earn a contract extension (which I think he will) then Snyder will aggressively pursue one. On the unlikely chance Rivers is available, Snyder will surely make every attempt to bring him to DC. More likely however is Merriman stepping onto Redskins One at 9:01pm (PST) in San Diego on his way to DC at the start of free agency next year. wolfeskins 06-07-2009, 09:59 AM I've said before, if Snyder was as dead set on getting Cutler or Sanchez he would have made it happen. I don't think he's a priority for them to extend over some other players with expiring contracts. Rivers is clearly their top priority but they have others in line ahead of Merriman.. I saw this earlier in the week which kind of reinforced my notion, San Diego - Pro Football Weekly (http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/NFL/AFC/AFC+West/San+Diego/WWHI/2009/wwhi060409.htm). |
