As you can see I don't post often. Guess I should just read and not participate. Monkeydad 05-06-2009, 10:23 AM You can participate after you read. Interesting location you have there. ArtMonkDrillz 05-06-2009, 10:24 AM beat me to itYou failed at pointing out LBrown's failure in a timely manner. Paintrain 05-06-2009, 10:28 AM Hey, did you hear we signed Albert Haynesworth? Word is Derrick Dockery may be coming back and Jay Cutler might be available. What do you guys think? LBrown43 05-06-2009, 10:29 AM You can participate after you read. Interesting location you have there. Better just to sit back and let you young experts go at it. If you need any memories from the 1972 Super Bowl year or thoughts of when Jergensen and Kilmer were battling for the quarterback spot I'm your man. If you need any memories from the 1972 Super Bowl year or thoughts of when Jergensen and Kilmer were battling for the quarterback spot I'm your man. I'd like to hear some memories from the 1972 Super Bowl. The only thing I know about it from a personal stand point is that despite the fact that my grandfather had 13 kids, most of whom were still living at home at the time, he hopped on a plane at the last minute with some friends and flew out to California to see it. That story always makes me jealous. LBrown43 05-06-2009, 10:51 AM I was 12. Mom made stew and dad and I got the rare treat to watch as we ate. I remember wearing my Redskins "R" helmet for most of the game and holding onto my football. It was a pretty boring game actually until Mike Bass made the interception of the Yepremian botched pass attempt and ran it back for a touchdown. I almost knocked my tray table over and dad grabbed mom and gave her a huge kiss and turned on the cassette recorder and played "Hail To The Redskins" (played only after touchdowns). I thought for sure that was the spark but it was over and the Dolphins completed a perfect season. Now for all of you sticklers I know that that Super Bowl was played in 1973 but capped the 1972 season. That year my main man Larry brown was league MVP and NFL Offensive player of the year. A great team of old guys who were if nothing else entertaining. |
