ARE hands down. (is this a fairy tale world, or realistic with cap implications? Cause I would NOT cut ARE if we had to take that 13+ mil hit)

Ditto, if our new punt returner would just fall forward everytime he caught the ball our punt return yardage would be greater then last year.

The sad thing is that they have so little depth that you really can't cut anybody except possibly Thrash or Yoder. ARE is a waste of space but, sadly, he is our second best wideout. I saw someone said Rabach but who would play center, Jansen?

I think you could cut Thrash and any of these guys off the street (Hackett, Williams or Washington) could outperform him. I also think that Davis should be ahead of Yoder.

If you had to release a single Redskin player (a starter) who would you release and why?
A single Redskin , and my sister thought they were all married , now she has hope :) Too damn tough a decision to cut any skin .

If Thrash counts, then Thrash.

If Thrash does not count, then whoever is at right tackle, presumably Jansen.

Either way my reasoning is that we can make that cut without a big dropoff in terms of who would have to fill the empty shoes.

Release Jansen take the hit this year. Next year will not be uncapped

The candidates are:

Rabach - never gonna be better than you saw last year

Heyer - after three years of Joe Bugel tutelage, you have to expect better if there is any talent there to make better.

Randle-El - lots of money tied up there for mediocre on-field production.

Thrash - not much as a WR, but does add value to special teams.

Griffin - if you believe any/all of the young DTs are worth more than a bucket of warm spit, then Griffin is expendable.

My pick: Rabach...

Without a doubt, Doughty!

Is he a starter? He is definitely behind Horton and probably behind Moore.

I don't want to change the gist of the thread, but the question is, with or without cap numbers involved? It makes a difference. For example, cutting Randle El would cost us $13.4M, keeping him is $4.1. Cutting Jansen- $6.2M, keeping him $3.4M. So realistically dropping those two can't happen.

I'll assume we're dealing with reality here, and so I'll take the cap numbers into consideration. I say Rabach. He stinks and would only cost us $1.3 to cut, and $3.6 to keep. Problem is we don't have an upgrade for him currently on the roster.

For the record I think Randle El is a marginal return man at best, and wouldn't be any better than a #3WR on almost all teams. But a $13M hit in '09 is absurd. Cap numbers aside, I'd like to dump him, Rabach, Thrash, Jansen, and Betts.

How ironic it is that people are quick to defend players when asked if they should be cut. lol. but these names have come up before.

ARE
Jansen
Rabach
Betts
Rogers..lol.
can we add Rock?
Thrash

Imagin if....if some of the people we picked up this yr can actually play better and bump any of these players. CAP implications a side. I honestly could see...

Jansen...cap hit
Thrash
Rabach
Rock
Betts

I think we brought in enough talent that these guys should worry but I get the feeling most of these players will be going nowhere simply cause they have been with the team and have the system atleast a yr under there belts.
