Hackett and Washington Deals offered, but not accepted yet!

Washington/Hackett update - Redskins 360 - Washington Times (http://www.washingtontimes.com/weblogs/redskins/2009/may/04/washingtonhackett-update/)

These guys must be fishing for bigger contracts or something.

If you're out of work, and someone offers, I cannot understand not accepting!

Because I'm sure they will get vet min offers from other teams, so why not wait a little and see if they can get a couple HUNDRED THOUSAND more? I completely see why they are waiting.
Look at it from their perspective. If you KNEW you would sign on with a company before August (say at 50k a year), but knew other companies were "interested" at the same level of pay, and possibly more, wouldn't you take that shot too? What if another company offers the same position, but for 60k, or 70k? Which one will you take?

Yes. I'll bet they are considering playing time, too. If they are offered vet min everywhere, they'll take the shot which they think offers them the best opportunity to play.

I think it is good. If we were signing guys that no one else wanted, that might be a problem.

Yes! Injured or not! Get your ass out there and play ball! My head is starting to hurt real bad.

Seriously. Some of the worst posts I've read around here in a while.

I wanna see if Malcolm Kelly can step up..Injured or not now is the time

Were you the guy that told Merriman to keep on playing after he blew out his knee?

Well let's see. Thomas is hurt. Kelly may not see the field for the second year in a row, Randle-El is a marginal #3, Thrash shouldn't be on the roster, I don't even know the name of the other guy who just signed and Hackett and Washington aren't on the roster.

Unless you are calling for that white guy who dropped everything for a couple of pre-seasons how is it not an upgrade?

Regardless of who we sign, I don't like the fact that Kelly is still rehabbing a bad knee and the same hammy that bothered Devin Thomas last year is already acting up. I want our 2nd year receivers to work out a helluva lot more than I want Hackett on this team.

They both need to grow a pair and step up. Now I know why we trade our 2nd round picks every year.

please don't tell me we are back to the skins receivers aren't tall enough argument?

O.k. how about they aren't good enough or they don't produce enough or they aren't healthy enough. Maybe not super smart enough or core Redskin enough?

Take your pick.

I do like what we're seeing here...fishing for WRs looking to prove themselves, make a comeback and whatnot. I figure this is pure Zorn and it's encouraging. Still, i think so much rests on DT, though it's understandable there's differing opinions on his potential and what makes for reasonable expectations. Devin is athletic like Moss but possesses superior physical gifts...what he needs to develop are the intangibles like route running and creating separation on gameday. Oh yeah, good hands lol...it's easy to forget all our WR need to work on catching the ball. But seriously, Devin is my candidate for exciting breakout player of the year of offense.

Me too. I have already been (prematurely) imagining DT taking it to the house again and again.
