A good American indeed. I've got tons of family in Western NY, so I'm pretty familiar with the man. When I was a freshman in high school, circa 1986, I wrote a paper which attempted to predict the future of politics and foreign policy and I had him being elected President in 1988, I think. I wish I had that paper. If he had been more of a presence on the political scene, I think the country and certainly the Republican party would have been the better for it.
