RIP Jack Kemp. A good American indeed. I've got tons of family in Western NY, so I'm pretty familiar with the man.

I hope this doesn't turn into a political thread, although I fully expect it will.

An outstanding QB and a hugely important player in the rise of the Conservative movement. When I was a freshman in high school, circa 1986, I wrote a paper which attempted to predict the future of politics and foreign policy and I had him being elected President in 1988, I think. I wish I had that paper. If he had been more of a presence on the political scene, I think the country and certainly the Republican party would have been the better for it. He sort of faded away on us. I think he found the process distasteful.

Sad news, His son played for the 49ers and Seahawks. I believe all his kids went to Churchill HS.

No offense to Kemp but he kept losing when it turned to Pres./V.P. politics. He may have found losing to be distasteful.

Didn't Brian Holloway and Dhani Jones also attend Churchill? I'm probably missing other attendee's that played in the NFL and/or other sports.
