Good for him I always liked him, we need a young hungry RB behind CP I really didn't like what I saw from Betts (he did have a couple good carries toward the end of the season) but all in all is he worth the cap space? Does he produce enough to warrant a roster spot? I'll take Mason ..
Sorry but I don't see Mason replacing Bett's. Last year they only called Betts number 4.6 time per game so he never really had much of a chance to do anything on the field. I would love for Mason to come in and do good but its just not going to happen.

I think you're on to something! I think he might in fact be the second coming.

Think about it: Jesus was a carpenter; Marcus is a Mason. He wears #23 which is twice as many apostles minus that backstabber Judas. Both of their first names end in "us". Marcus keeps resurrecting his way to our preseason roster. They both walk on water. They can both lead the league in preseason rushing yards. And they're both God's gift to us.

Doubling 11 (12-Judas) is 22.

Carlos Rogers is a gift from God.

But you add back in the disciple who replaced Judas so that becomes 23. see.

I don't get why they resigned Mason but didn't look at any of the free agent RB's that were available after the draft. I would have loved to have Jeramiah Johnson from Oregon. I thought he could have been a nice change of pace back. I think Mason is just more of what we already have.

He is a RB/fan favorite that got cut last preseason. We let him go because we didn't want to hinder his talent by keeping him as a 3d or 4th back. He is good enough to be a 2d string back somewhere. if he was able to return kicks or punts, IMO we would have dropped Cartwright. He is a great pick up for the time being and I look forward to watching him, Colt and Marko in the preseason. Did i hear someone say bring back Buck Ortega?
If he is that good, then why has he been on so many different practice squads?

Why wasn't he a #2 anywhere else in the league?

Looks like a great candidate to bring to camp to give him a shot at making the final 53, but does he really have the goods to unseat Betts?

Seems to me that if he did he would have done it last year, or even made another teams roster and not their practice squad.

Keep Cartwright with Sellers blocking for a pound the ball game mixed with Portis. Let Mason and Alridge duke it out for #2 and #3 back positions. They are quicker slash style runners that can add an aspect to the game when Portis wears down a defense and they become tired. Trade Betts for a starter quality SLB so we can keep Orakpo at DE. Dorsey can compete with Thrash as special teamer.
