I know that I have said before that I thought that Colt would be cut, but based on the circumstances it would not be feesabile. I forsee Colt and Chase battling it out again next year before they release Colt. Chase can go on the practice squad and we can keep all four for another season. Chances are that no one would sign him from our PS. If we were to cut Colt however, he would be gone. Wynn gets cut again. There shouldn't be many suprises on here.

Westbrook isn't eligible for PS anymore. Pretty sure Mason and Shelton aren't either

I thought that Westbrook had 1 more year. If that is the case then do not quote me on the Practice squad then. I feel pretty confident in the regular squad though.

SmootSmack 09-01-2009, 06:28 PM We probably tried to trade our surplus at the position back at the draft.
There is one suitor who makes sense now: Carolina. But if they aren't willing to give us a late round pick for him, there unfortunately is no market. And even then, if they think we will cut him loose, they will probably just wait..
Interesting (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/10008538/NFL-trades-that-need-to-happen-before-kickoff)
Beemnseven 09-01-2009, 07:44 PM Well, looks like GTripp may be right -- just heard it from another source, Frank Hanrahan, beat reporter for ESPN 980, says that Montgomery is on the bubble. Apparently Montgomery came into camp way out of shape.
I still think they will keep a total of four D-tackles.
12thMan 09-01-2009, 07:56 PM Hold up folks, Monty's not going to Carolina. They just acquired DT Louis Leonard from Cleveland for an undisclosed draft pick.

That's what Montgomery always does. No discipline in the off-season. That's why he fell so far in the draft. But his talent has been called Haynesworth-esque so I'd be surprised if he was let go.
wilsowilso 09-02-2009, 12:02 AM Let's get serious people. We are not cutting Anthony Montgomery. Maybe we would entertain the idea of trading him, but releasing him makes no sense. Having four DT's that can actually play is a valuable luxury. It's not something any NFL team(even us) doesn't understand.
I guess they could make an example of him because his work ethic isn't too hot, but the guy is a legit NFL DT. How can you really justify releasing him unless he is some kind of locker room problem?
charlied72 09-02-2009, 02:17 AM Just resigned if I'm not mistaking. Won't be traded couldn't get anything for him really at best a low 4th rd pick. He's a solid player.
